Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

It's a chain. Also, it's more like three dollar signs. Bottom line, if you want  to spend some money at a chain steak house, go to Ruths Chris. Or Morton's.

I was recently at Fleming's in Sarasota for dinner with my boyfriend and happy hour on Sand Lake Rd with the girls.

Dinner...overall very good. I have some special dietary needs and the server was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu ingredients.  I ordered salmon and my boyfriend the bone-in rib eye.  All food items were very good.  The only item that was a negative is the amount of butter that was used on the steak - he didn't finish it because it was very rich.  They can definitely lighten up on the finishing butter, the steak is delicious on its' own.

Happy Hour with the girls was very fun.  There are a variety of drinks and small plates.  The prices for happy hour menu items; including drinks was 5 for $6 til 7:00.  We like the fact that happy hour is until 7:00 (most end at 6:00) and the price and service was very good.  I recommend going there to give it a try!

The prime rib was a generous portion, tender and moist, and melted in my mouth.   They decant our bottles of wine at the table.  My server was interested in making a personal connection with our party and an unforgettable dining experience for every person at the table.  Everyone at our table had good comments about their meal.   Although I miss the atmosphere and friends from Lawry's, The Grill on the Ally and Spago's; I had an enjoyable evening with some new friends at Fleming's.
