My partner went to high school in Spring and his parents still live there so that means we often end up going out on Christmas night to catch up with his old friends. Â Unfortunately, there are not many kitchen options open on Christmas night. Â I learned this lesson last year when we went somewhere for a drink near Montrose with a closed kitchen and all they could offer us was a bag of potato chips. Â After calling 15+ several local restaurants after a food coma, we found this spot. Â
A sign at the door announced $2 draft specials all night. Â Opening up the drink menu revealed a great selection e.g. Ace Pear, Boddington's, Karbach, Sam Adams and St. Arnold's seasonal. Â They have a long menu of chainy food not unlike Chili's or Bennigans. Â The guys got appetizers while I went with a the spinach salad to cancel out all the holiday food I'd been enjoying. Â It was totally tasty, light, and the candied pecans were full of good fats, right? Â
The main room when you enter is smoker-friendly. Â There's another room to the right that is smoke-free with a couple of pool tables and lots of big screens for sports. Â We enjoyed watching the Rockets trounce the Bulls. Â There's a smaller room where the bathrooms can be found that seemed to have more pool tables and also was smoke-free. Â The waitress was great, but the kitchen was slow due to the skeleton staff. Â It was Christmas Day so I'm not complaining. Â We left a large tip in light of the discounted beers and having to work on the holiday.
Good pub to sit and watch the game. They usually have drink specials which are always a good idea. This bar is smoke friendly, being from california, I wasnt too comfortable but that's my problem. Although there was a pregnant waitress working that night....Aaaaaanyways, no t-shirts sold here, totally bummed me out it's my favorite cartoon movie. The snacks were good and the drinks wern't soft or stiff, a fair deal altogether. a good place to just chill, have a drink, and smoke a cig.
