I am told that this 'Friendly Greek Bar' is no-longer related in anyway, Â to the newly renovated 'Friendly Greek' restaurant on New Holland Pike. Â I believe at one time they both were owned by two brothers, who sold off the businesses separately. Â
However, this 'Friendly Greek' is a text-book dive bar cheap beers and liquors for cheap prices, and the expected patrons you get with cheap drinks. Â They do feature some foods - I only ate in their one time. Â I had a delicious 7" Italian sub, that literally only cost me $3.
They really good clean this place up. Â The walls are flaking, the floor is dirty, the bar is trashed and some of the bottles have collected dust. Â If you like the atmosphere of a local bar-tender who looks as weathered as his bar, this is the place for you. Â If someone was writing about classic dive bars, the Friendly Greek would have to make the book. Â It is that atmosphere that is sometimes fun to visit. Â If it wasn't in a urban location and attracting downtown patrons, you would expect to find this bar in some small mountain coal town, serviced by honest blue collar workers, defined by the 1950's.
