I wanted this to end up being a better review because I really enjoy their sister restaurant, Plum's Upper Room, but alas I had to grade down because of the service. Â We went mid morning to get breakfast on a Saturday and got a table right away. Â It is a small place with room for only about 15 inside and a few more out front, but they had 4 staff and they did not seem to be working together very well. Â We ordered the croissant egg sandwich, one with ham and one with bacon and it took 20 to 25 minutes for it to be served which was much more than I was expecting from a small restaurant with ample staff. Â
The saving grace (that got them a 3 star score) was the food. Â The fresh squeezed OJ was great and the sandwiches were also very good.
Grilled cheese.... not that exciting right. but i swear this was the best grilled cheese of my life! The addition of smokey bacon, fresh tomatoes and touch of hot sauce turned it into a over the top sandwich. I wasnt crazy about the bread used, grilled cheese SHOULD be on some kind of white but it was still really stinkin good!
They have a great list of craft beers and a breakfast menu, where i did not try everything sounded good.
The place is darling inside, i even went into the "cellar" to use the restroom and was amazed at how cozy they made a basement feel.
I really feel this is a must try when you are in Zionsville
Had lunch here yesterday. One of the BEST & Unique Burgers in Zionsville. I had the Brie Burger and it was AWESOME! I will definitely be back.
They have indoor seating & outdoor seating; along with a "Cellar" downstairs seating which is very cozy and comfortable. Nice little whole in the wall in Zionsville!
This was my first time visiting G Simone's so I when I entered, I wasn't sure weather they would serve me or I would order an seat myself.
It's very informal and everything is made to order with fresh ingredients.
Makes me hungry again.
It's very much set up like a European or Early American Bistro with the kitchen at the back of the room. Â It's a small place. Â The kitchen makes the room warm.
The omelet was perfect. Â The coffee was fantastic.
I went downstairs to use the restroom and found a cool, and eclectic lounge.
I will return to try G Simone again.
Just returned to G Simone's to find new decor and a new menu. Â I'm really excited about the new, expanded menu. Â Had an amazing truffle omelet for breakfast and am looking forward to going back for a curry egg salad sandwich. Â Not crazy about the decor. I miss the substantial wood tables. Â The new (laminate top) tables allow for more seating, but it changes the atmosphere from European country to... I don't know...slightly more downscale bistro? The new, dark color scheme might make it a nicer dinner/evening place but it's a little bit of a downer for breakfast/lunch/brunch in the Village. I'll be back for sure and if you didn't know the former decor you wouldn't miss it, I guess. Â I learned there is a wine bar in the basement but I've never been. Â Can't wait to check it out (if I can figure out the hours).
