horrible horrible horrible!! Â Stay way from this dive! Â If I could rate negative stars in would. Â They have the worst staff and bartenders ever. Â not only are they rude but they don't even care. Â If your in Berwyn near this area there are tons of bars walking distance from this dump! KEEP WALKING!!
Review Source:Great place! Love the layout of it. Plenty of room at the bar to chill and watch a game, but also tons of tables to sit with friends and enjoy the food. It's a good place to shoot some pool and they usually have a DJ to keep the place lively. The bartenders are quick and knowledgeable. They seem to have a good time behind the bar, keeping it fun for the customer. I've had a couple of attractive girls get my drinks, but they're not full of themselves. One bartender, Tory, was having a blast dancing behind the bar, but still made sure that everyone's drink was full. It's easy to have a good time when the workers are enjoying themselves. I will definitely be hanging here more often.
Review Source:A nice train station location neighborhood dive bar. The place has young locals and others from afar. The night I went four people jumped a freight and headed here. This place seems a typical suburban bar has plenty of space and a neighborly feel. Good beer prices and nice look makes it one of the better bars in town. So good four twentysomethings will come from Dakota states.
Review Source:I have been here a couple times because it is close to my job. Â Eh, not one of my favorite places. Â First off, there is a pronounced musty smell hovering around the bar. Â Since I have allergies, this is the last smell I want to deal with, since i know congestion will be joining my party in the near future.
As for the cocktails, the wine is not much to be desired and there are very few import beer choices. Â I was forced to choose between Amstel Light and Corona.
The bartenders are alright, but not all of them know what they are doing.
The pizza was okay, but not the best.
The space is open and offers a lot of seating choices, and there is a pool table and basketball shooting game.
I think I need to keep hunting for a post work watering hole...
Nice to see a place with such history alive & kickin'!
It's been a couple'a years since the last review of the ol' Garv...time for an update. First and foremost - FOOD! Great, simple menu including ribs from Giovanni's. Good burgers, chicken sangwitch, and a mean bruschetta. Â I'd like to see fewer fried apps.
Excellent bar and place to watch baseball games - I imagine football season will be just as enjoyable. Don't be fooled by the open layout - wife and I were at the bar while one two groups and a handful of regular patrons occupied the dining room. It wasn't loud or unmanageable in the least.
We're regulars and, if you give this place a try, you just might become one, too!
Ah, the Garv.
Where I saw and danced to some of the final Queensmen shows. Where I can get a Blue Moon with no orange and enjoy it with ease.
When you could smoke here, it was delightful since it hid most of the patrons. You couldn't really see them when you hit the tables. Â
Most of the time though, you're by the bar since there were no waitresses. There at the bar, the tenders will have no gruff. I've seen a patron get up on a bartender and she cold cocked him.
I won't be a regular, but if I need to go somewhere and have a nice, basic evening, I'd come here.
