George's Restaurant & Bar

Not sure what the fuss is about. Food is good, and by that I mean on par with national chains with a little Texas uniqueness tossed in. The chicken jalapeno popper bacon app is pretty good. Huge portions. Nice people. Diverse menu.  It IS a sports bar. The room we were in had the "wobbily tables and banquet chairs". They did not spend money on decor, for sure.

George's is ALWAYS busy! I think it's because it's a great place to hang with friends and of course, to have the Big O beer. The food is alright, the drinks are strong, and I've had yet to have bad service here. I like this location better than the one on Speight. I never feel like I'm totally wowed or anything but I like eating here and continue to return on a regular basis.

You'll walk in thinking that its a nice, pleasant, clean looking chain restaurant ...  
 Half of it is this nice looking chain restaurant, and the other half is a podunk, small town, cheap "buffet" style furniture. Nasty.
 The tables are wobbily,  and the chairs are crappy bright green banquet chairs.  After I saw this, esp for the price ( chain restaurant prices) I wanted to walk out, almost had my husband convinced too.
 They give half dried out small buns for free, and the food plate is nothing to be excited about.

 This is just an honest no sugar coating review.  Don't waste your money or time here, there isn't anything special about this place.  Unless you are close to home in this area and don't mind getting trashed here and walking home.

Waste of my money.
