George's Restaurant & Catering

The big O!  They're famous for this really giant glass of beer they serve which they call a big "o".  College students love it apparently.

We went here for lunch over the past weekend and it was decent.  I had the fajitas and they were ok but not great.  My father in law had the chicken fried steak, which he apparently said he used to have 40 years ago when he attended baylor too, and he thought it was just as good now as it was then!

Overall, it wasn't a great or bad place.  But it just wasn't anything special, and I wouldn't feel like I needed to go back.

Best Chicken Fried Steak in Waco. Good portions with reasonable prices. Their famous Big-O mug of beer is a treat. I've tried most of the menu over the years and never been disappointed. Great experience for visitors, students, and locals.

On my visit I felt compelled to try the famous chicken fried steak and came away very pleased, and extremely full all for just over $10 for the full portion.

George's seems like it would be a great place to visit during football season with a great deal of Baylor memorabilia decorating the dining room.

Overall it was a great experience and easy to see why it's a local favorite.
