I have come here three or four times in the eight years I've lived in Mountlake Terrace. They serve good basic pub fair and offer specials two nights a week Tacos two for a buck on Thursday and Steak dinner special on Tuesday. Good selection of beers and spirits to quench your thirst.
There are pool tables and darts for entertainment as well as some video games. A few televisions are scattered about for watching sports programming. Overall a good neighborhood bar.
The bar area would draw more interest if they replaced the pull tab tanks with flat screens for viewing sports.
This place is everything you would ever want from your local watering hole. Good, cheap drinks. The local folks that are always there, and always willing to talk to you about who knows what.
The bar tenders always remember me, and the karaoke is some of the best in Edmonds, although the books haven't been updated in the 2+ years I have been going here. Hence the 4 stars.
And you cannot complain about $1 for 2 tacos on Thursday nights! C'mon now!
Awesome - provided you know what you're getting. Has all the dive bar ambiance you would want, with pool tables televisions - my wife and I call it our own version of "The Winchester" from Shaun of the Dead. Manager and staff has always been, friendly, recognizes us, etc. Great deals like $5 steak night for meeting a friend after work. BEST thing? Karaoke. It's weird but this place brings in people with real talent and great voices. Only once a night is there a bad (or over-inebriated) singer that ought to get off the stage. Great neighborhood bar.
Review Source:Since I don't drink, and don't really go to bars all that often, I'm going to give this place a great rating. The atmosphere was fun, and all the patrons as well as staff were very friendly and fun-loving. This was our second stop after our wedding ceremony, and it was karaoke night. I always love watching people get up and sing, whether they are good or bad. The crowd was super enthusiastic and supportive of everyone who sang, and all were having a great time! My diet coke was perfectly fizzy, which can be hard to get at a bar. We would definitely go again and try the food!
Review Source:Stopped going. It was too much like a high school clique in there. Everyone knew everyone and apparently had been sitting there since 10 am ( that is , if they ever went home). Â I got kinda irritated when they started a beer coaster war across the whole bar. I guess I'm not much of a fan of the sport since I don't like to be repeatedly nailed in the head by flying cardboard. When I made mention of my lack of enjoyment the bar keep/ dishwasher got mad at ME! I'm talking scary mad!
That's OK. There are lots of other places that are Flying Object free
Never going back, unless I want to get cancer. The place reeked of cigarette smoke, we told the bar tender and they didn't care. The woman said, "what you want me to do about it". Really? Really? Wow! One thing this place got right was their name. I wanted to get as far away from there as possible. We cut the party short and ran for the hills.
Review Source:The expectations were not over the top when I ventured into this out of the way pub. We were immediately greeted and served drinks by an attentive waitress and served food whose portions defied logic considering the price. Under 7 dollars for a plate covered in fries, gravy and succulent chicken fried steak! Then... the Karaoke started. The books were HUGE and my excitement was noticeable as I lugged one to our booth. The first few songs in the rotation were meekly sung country ballads and I was in hot pursuit of an upbeat number to jog our table out of it's lull. This was not the case. Time and time again I was shot down by the catalog I can only refer to as "Karaoke hell", most artists available in the immense catalog had 7 to 8 identical songs, and it seemed as their most popular tracks had been deleted from the playlist. I am not the biggest Journey fan and even as the song is the epitome of a dead horse, how can you operate Karaoke and not have "Don't stop believin'" in the book???? Same with Biz Markie and "Just a Friend", LL Cool J and " Mama Said Knock You Out"... All of the previous artists are present, only sans signature songs. This was however not the final deterrent, after the excellent food I was hell bent on finding a song to sing! Eureka! With slip in hand and a stiff 3 dollar special vodka soda I made my way through the empty Saturday night crowd and offered up my virgin slip of the night. I was greeted with a look of disdain and a finger pointing to a platform a few inches away, as if the "DJ"s job was so exhausting that she could not possibly be bothered with accepting my slip herself. Defeated, I slurped the last of my drink and headed out into the night with the sounds of out of tune ballads echoing through the dark. I headed to another bar where I found a treasure trove of music and a much more upbeat (i.e living) atmosphere, but that story is for another review.
Review Source:Remember that uncle you had that was always drunk, smelled like stale beer and always made you sit on his lap and kiss him on the lips? Â There is a good chance he drinks at this bar. Â With that said, this is a neighborhood bar where you will find the same people night after night, the staff is friendly and the drinks are as stiff as a porn star being fluffed before his next big performance. Â
They have karaoke Thurs-Sun and the host is friendly and makes everybody feel at home
If you plan on taking a woman home from here, take advantage of the great condom selection in the bathrooms. Â You will need it and that 50 cents may prevent lots of red bumps, itching and swollen genitals
I'm giving this place 5 stars as one of my favorite pub/burger places. Â Why? Â Well, it is literally two blocks from my house for one. Â Other than that they've got decent prices, a full bar, and a great kitchen. Â If you're in the area, get a bacon burger. Â I call it the Drake Burger because it's the best I ever had! Â Everything just tastes very fresh. Â Go there Saturday evening for 2 for one burgers and its the best place for my honey and I to grab a cheap bite.
They've also got a few pool tables, Golden Tee golf, a bunch of flat screens, and karaoke. Â This place is like Cheers for me.
Seriously, stop in for a burger... and if you're feeling froggy get The Works burger. Â It's got everything they've got on it.
Great prices and specials. Â Stiff drinks!!! Â I usually go on Thursday's for TACO THURSDAY!!! Great deal 2 tacos for 2 dollars. The bartender on Thursday's is very efficient and friendly. Burgers are good too! Â Actually, all the food there is good bar food. no music until someone plays the jukebox though! Â Great place for lunch, after work, or after the game.
Review Source:I actually like coming here. Â Let there be no mistake, this is a dive bar. Â And it's not one of those dive bars that is cute and hip. Â This is where old drinkers come to die. Â But that is still great, as I have never met anybody who was rude or mean. Â All the people there are usually in a very happy drunk mood, and for the most part the bartenders are very very nice.
Great burgers to boot, and one of the only places I know of in the north end that shows whatever the game you want to see and they DON'T have music playing over it. Â I come here to watch Husky Basketball or football or seahawks.. Pretty much the best of the Mountlake Terrace dives although that's not saying much.
