This place started out great over the last four years it has gone so far down hill its actually frightening. The servers are below subpar and change often, except for a hefty blonde with a sour look on her face at all times. So let's recap the last four visits to this establishment. First party for my brother the day before he was deployed waitress forgot our appetizers completely, two dishes were sent back and I had order a mexican style salad that was supposed to have black beans corn tomatoes and avacado came out with a mound of refried beans guacamole and sour cream. I was disgusting. Then my fiance and stopped in to order two burgers and grab a drink or two at 9 (they close at 10) after placing our order we were asked to get our drinks and pay our bill, to boot my wine was terrible and his beer tasted like the lines had never been run or cleaned for that matter. The burgers were good, ill give them that. Then the 3rd encounter he and I went in for dinner early on Sunday and ordered 2 zuppe de pecs fra diavolo. The salads came out with out pastas, which had no spice. When we brought it to the servers attention she argued with us, also id like to mention more than half of the mussels and clams were not open n the dishes. And the last straw last night, I ordered a house salad with blackened chicken, avacado and balsamic dressing for pick up and a grilled chicken sandwich with seet potatoe fries and a side of honey mustard for my fiance. Drove it twenty to his job because was working late to find that they botched the whole order. I am pregnant and have been advised to stay away from salty foods soft cheese and a mllion other things. I open our food. My salad is covered in blue cheese crumbles, bacon, and black olives, the chicken was not blackened and they gave me blue cheese dressing. My fiances sandwich on the other hand had blackened chicken when it was supposed to be plain regular fries and no honey mustard. I called to speak with a manager the person the phone said she was the manager "tonight" and stated that the order was not placed correctly, offered no solution. So I dumped my salad and will never set foot in that place again!
Review Source:I'll give this place one star. I used to eat here quite often as they are next door. Over the last few years the food quality has really taken a nose dive. In addition the service is terrible. I used to order a cheeseburger to go and ask to have it well done. I would get it home and it would be medium rare at best every time. Â One evening recently I decided to give them another chance. I ordered a pasta dish for pick up as I didn't have time to it and wait. Â I went to the restaurant and they clearly lost my order. Rather than be honest with me and tell me my order was lost, the manager lied and told me it would be a few minutes as it was still cooking, he then proceeded to go back to the kitchen and loudly instruct them to throw my order together. I will never go there again. Â Any other diner in the area is a way better choice and the food will be markedly better.
Review Source:I've taken a group of 12-15 there on two occasions for lunch.  The menus were not that confusing at all.  Either choose Italian or Gloria's variety.  The wait service was very good and everyone rated the place 4-5 on our own.  There's plenty of parking and the food was very good as seen by our empty plates.  The price is right for the large portions served, in fact I usually ask them to downsize the serving.  I've been there on my own a few  times and never really had a problem but I have always been there for lunch not dinner.  Our group anticipates going back in 2012.
Review Source:My coworker had been raving about this place for weeks, and invited a bunch of us out to Gloria's for dinner. We had misgivings from the start - the decor is bizzare, an odd mix of Americana and Pier 1. There looked to be seat cushions randomly stapled to the wall near the ceiling, and the empty space near where we sat had an odd collection of hanging doors. Â The menu was ridiculously large - a few of us joked that we would have studied if we'd known there'd be this much.
We ordered an assortment of appetizers, including the wings that had been so highly recommended. The appetizers were pretty slow to come out, but when they did our misgivings were temporarily put to rest. The wings are delicious! The buffalo aren't inundated with sauce, and there's a generous portion of meat to each wing.
Unfortunately, that was the only high note to the meal. I ordered a pasta primavera with a salad. The waitress (not the waiter who took the order) had no idea what was going on. There was a mixup with my order, and instead of getting it fixed she decided to play "he said she said" - meanwhile she hadn't even brought the "wrong" plate out to the table to begin with. I got to sit there for probably twenty to thirty minutes while everyone else ate before getting the sad excuse for a pasta primavera with pesto.
While I was waiting for whatever the kitchen was doing back there, another friend of mine had to send his food back. The chicken was obviously frozen, and had the consistency of a pear and the taste of shoe leather, and the pasta alternated between mushy and uncooked. My boyfriend's fettucine alfredo (which I started nibbling on since I was starving) had an odd taste to it, slightly sour. Eventually, my dish came out. As soon as I saw it my heart sank. The pasta was so saturated with "pesto" it was green, and gloppy to boot. The vegetables were mush, and hard to find since there were so few.
The waitress tried to make good, but her attempts to salvage our experience at Gloria's fell flat. She brushed off the disastrous food as "you just have to pick what you like." I like my food cooked properly, thank you very much. Despite her assurances that we wouldn't be charged for the two inedible pasta dishes, the check was a mess. Another friend had to get everything sorted out, and it took them almost twenty minutes to run two debit cards.
There is no way I'm going back, which is a shame since their wings were so good. If all a restaurant can manage is bar food, they should stick to being a bar and leave the "complicated" food to somewhere that can manage a stove *and* a deep fryer at the same time.
Met a group of at least 10 girlfriends with a few kiddies here on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Â It was wonderful because one of us had made reservations a head of time and we were given our own little nook away from the rest of the restaurant. Â We were loud and obnoxious without interrupting anyone else too bad. Â Everyone seemed to enjoy their food, the price, coffee, and our nook which is why we have chosen to make this our standing get together location once a month. Â
It's very similar to a diner and our waitress was great, we were allowed to stay long after we had finished with no one bothering us or hurrying us to leave.
This place is currently experiencing an identity crisis! Â Wife & I have been itching to visit this place and we were so disappointed.
The place looks clean and maintained really well both inside and out. Â When you enter there is a nice bar setup on the left and the main restaurant on the right. Â The booths, tables and decor are very pleasant & clean but that's where the best part is; in the appearance.
When we sat down we were presented with TWO huge menus, (1) Gloria's Grille and (2) Napoli's Italian restaurant. Â Confused as you could imagine we immediately asked, "What's with the two menus? Â Have we not arrived at Gloria's Grille?" Â The waitress explained that the owner owns both establishments and is serving food from both menus. Â Ouch! I think that's a tall order for a restaurant to have SO much on a menu, let alone TWO full menus.
After we gathered ourselves from the confusion of two menus I ordered from the Italian menu and my wife ordered from the Gloria's Grille menu. Â The wait wasn't long at all and before long we were digging into our lean cuisines...umm I mean diner food. Â My lasagna looked really good and my wife's cold pork sandwich looked mildly presentable.
My wife didn't like her meal too much as the lettuce on her sandwich was wilted and bread didn't taste all that fresh. Â The only joy she got from her meal were the fries. Â My lasagna wasn't all that bad but for "homemade" I expected something much better. Â They seemed to coat a portion of my lasagna that was burnt with cheese (see photo I shared with this review).
Overall the place appears to be really warm and welcoming, however the food is well below average for a diner. Â I think this place is in a complete identity crisis and unless the owner picks which menu the place will go with it will be overkill for the chef to juggle so many dishes from two menus. Â This place opened in 2008 but I don't see it lasting unless some changes are made soon.
