    Quantity over Quality.

Movie suggestion:  "Attack of the Hungry Zombies." (The "half-dead-mostly-full" people, roaming with overloaded plates and glazed eyes, looking for the last item to pile on before sitting down, ignoring most common courtesies and jumping into any line more than 3 people deep because something good must be there.)

If it wasn't for my kids absolutely raving about the place, this would have been a 2 star for me.  However, it is what it is...mass produced, over cooked, under imagined food in a feed frenzy atmosphere.

The seating area is crazy.  Everyone seems to be sitting right next to another with tables in long rows, so there is virtually no privacy.  Reminded me of 'Feeding time at the Farm."  And last night was packed...something that totally suprised us for a Sunday night at 7pm.  We were fortunate to have had the 'party room' reserved for us, as a group of about 40 friends and family had a small birthday celebration there.  It was a good time (for the 3 hours we spent there!), and the staff that was assigned to the party room were very attentive and polite.  Shout out to Herman...we really liked him!

The food could have two different ratings...a '2 star' for the adults, and a '5 star' for kids.  What we ate was fine, but it reminded me of my college cafeteria, mostly tasteless and made for the masses, and i can't give it a '1 star' since no one got sick, although some of the stuff didn't really look edible.  Even though the steaks were not top-cuts, they were seasoned well, and fresh grilled.  If you could work around the large streams of fat in them, you could get some decent chunks of meat...Warning:  The guy working the grill may not know the difference between Medium Rare & Well-Done, so when you ask for a certain type, it may just be a random selection.

But for the kids, I mean, how could they not give it a 5-star...they got to get anything they wanted from steak, popcorn shrimp, mexican, italian, fresh rolls (ok - the rolls were pretty good, even for the adults), to cotton candy, free refills on soda-pop, cake, ice-cream, etc...I think I overheard one of the kids comment:  "This is the best restaurant ever!"   I didn't have the heart to tell her otherwise....but she will figure it out.

    Better than your average buffet.

Buffets like this were always my grandparents favorites places to eat, so they hold a special nostalgic place in my heart! To me as a youth there was nothing better then a cafeteria style buffet, Old School Royal Fork being their favorite and mine as well. With variations and combinations I bet this is one of those mathematical food mysteries that is awaiting funding to figure out the exact different combinations I think its something like 1,318,541 I was going to use this review to list all the possible combinations but will leave some of drama shrouding this mystery to your imagination.

Golden Corral has all the standard buffet items, mac n cheese, mash pots, rice, green beans, corn, pot roast, broccoli, and a nicely stocked salad bar. The serve some very nice fresh baked rolls and even have decided to step it up a notch and have the pseudo server in reality bus person and drink filler bring a nice basket of these rolls directly to your table. I am waiting on the read your mind service and cant wait until once I sit down they bring me 2 lbs of sirloin hot of the grill! Speaking of sirloin that's the reason I come here from time to time, they have steak its not top of line steak but its still steak, they serve it every night! I usually get me 2 or 3 nice chunks' of steak and make little steak sandwiches with the hot fresh rolls and have a salad bar concoction as well (276,453 different combination's in itself) Everything else is bland and marginally edible but it meets your expectations for mass produced cafeteria style buffet food! The desert are really not much to mention but they have liberal portions of sprinkles and gummy bears at the soft serve ice cream station which makes the kiddies happy.
