I grew up in Spencerport but have liven in Buffalo for the past 5 years. Every time I go back, I have to make a trip to Grandpa Sam's!!

I usually get the ravioli, or gnocchi. Sometimes lasagna. I've never had a bad experience with their food! They bottle their sauces and I think next time I'm there, I will get a jar!

The last time I was there, though, I got the pizza on a whim. It was delicious! Better than some of the pizza places (both in Spencerport and Buffalo)!

After you order, you get some fresh Italian bread and a salad. I love restaurants where you dip your bread into oil and cheese. My mother used to serve oil with bread rather than butter and sometimes I really miss it! Their dressing for the salad is great too!

Another great thing about Grandpa Sam's is their catering. For both me and my brother's high school and college graduations, we have ordered a pan of their chicken french. The pieces of chicken are huge and we usually cut every piece in half before serving it. For all 4 caterings, I have never heard a complaint about the chicken french!  I absolutely love it and would recommend it.

If you're ever in Spencerport, you don't want to miss out on Grandpa Sam's. But make a reservation, it is always busy there!

You know when you are trying to eat right for a while and then one day you just can't take it any more and you are like, "I NEED CARBS! BUTTER! CHEESE!" Well, this would be the perfect place to relapse.

Everything is just pretty solid here, not amazing, but they have all the important parts down pat-- food is decent, service was great, environment is clean and cozy.  Meals come with bread and a salad, which is nice for a change, because for some reason a lot of restaurants stopped serving (or started charging) for a salad. Our entrees were piping hot-- the artichoke french and chicken parm. I would not make a special trip to go back here, but I would definitely stop in again if I happened to be in Spencerport any time soon.

This Italian restaurant is in the cute, out-of-the-way town of Spencerport, but has some good quality Italian food that you might not expect in a place like this.

For appetizers, I went for the cheesy risotto fritters, which were similar to arancini, but without the filling. I actually liked the fritters, as the batter was light and the risotto was cooked perfectly. The marinara sauce provided a nice tangy touch.

Another appetizer, the cheesy mugliulati, was almost like an Italian bread pizza. Toasted Italian bread, topped with tomato sauce, cheese, and Italian pepperoni, it didn't seem very unique and it looked like it could've been whipped up by some college kid with late night hunger pains.

The salad and Italian bread portion of the meal was passable. It wasn't glaringly bad or good.

I had the linguine with white clam sauce, which was replete with clams. Not only did it have an abundance of clams in the shell, but chopped clams in the sauce. The clams were certainly not overcooked and tasted fantastic. The portion was substantial to the point where I wasn't even close to finishing it. The only complaint I have is that the sauce was too oily, even for a white clam sauce. Overall,  it was very good and I'd order it again.

The service wasn't too bad, as the young lady was attentive and reasonably helpful. The decor is somewhat dated and reminds me of the 80's. They have to update the tables and chairs.

I heard many good things about the food so my wife and I decided to check it out tonight.  There was about a 20 minute wait which isn't too bad for 7:00pm on a Friday night.  Unfortunately it took over an hour to get our food. It seemed as though everyone was waiting quite a while.  There did not seem to be a system in place in the kitchen because we counted at least 3 tables that sat and order 10-15 minutes after us recieved thier food 5-10 minutes before we did.  Once the food finally arrived is was definitely above average.  I had the chicken satibocca which has a lot of flavor and the chicken was moist and cooked well.  My wife had the spaghetti and meatballs.  The sauce was just so-so, not much flavor, but the meatballs were moist.  The waitress was friendly.  I might try them again if I have time to kill and no where to be.  Maybe I'll give their take out try.

One of the best Italian restaurants in town.  Authentic, fresh, friendly & reasonably priced.  The arancini is delicious!

Great little family-owned restaurant in the Village. Hope they stay around. The wife and I didn't want to go to far away from home to maximize our time out of the house by getting in as much wine as possible. We snuck out for an anniversary dinner while a babysitter was with the kids.

Clean environment as minimally cozy, but we were not expecting a foo-foo joint. Two good meals, reasonably priced, and the wine was ok priced - but within expectations. They had a nice treat at the start - what appeared to be fresh homemade bread - with an olive-oil/herb dipping dish.

Service was decent as well. Wasn't packed - no wait for a table.

This is a nice little Italian place located in the heart of Spencerport, NY. My husband and I tried it for the first time and we both enjoyed our meals. The waitress was incredibly friendly as well. We ordered the fire-cracker bruschetta for an appetizer and it was tasty, although a bit on the salty side with the olives. Bread and salad were also brought out and were very tasty. For our entrées, I ordered the ravioli sampler and my husband ordered the seafood diavolo. The 4-cheese ravoli with tomato sauce is delicious! The sauce is sweeter than most tomato sauces and I really liked it. The seafood diavolo was spicy and flavorful. For desert I ordered creme brulee...again, quite delicious.

This place doesn't look like much when you first walk in but I don't think you will be disappointed if you go. The portions are huge, the staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable.

Good Italian fare. Sauces are nice and fresh, but lacking in a lot of depth. Varied menu and good wine selections.

Great italian food & great service on Valentines Day.  The seafood fra diavolo was excellent and wife ordered tortellini with red sauce and meatballs - also excellent.  Nice sized portions with some extra to take home with us.  If you like italian food....try this place out!
