This place was nasty.I ordered the sesame chicken and got somethingthat looked and tasted like BBQ Tyson. Even for being BBQ the quality was so <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpoor.it&s=6987fee1b4e43a6801b11b4528e3fb878847fb33b2bc93f551e5aa5cb099c183" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://poor.it</a> looked like someone had nuked it and was all molded to the bowl I got it in.Then when I complained the person told me everyone makes t different
I told her it was outright nasty in all my years of existence I had never been served food so incredibly nasty but whatever.Guess the people of elgin were high when they were asked if they liked it. When I went there to the place to bring back my food the service was horrible there too. The lady at the desk took ten minutes to even  ask me what I was there for. Then she just didn't even apologize for her nasty food I was delivered the day before. She was giving the phone calls priority. Then my order sat about 5 minutes on a side table before I approached her about why it was taking so long for one single dish I ordered. I was there 45 minutes. I got their version of general tso it was another <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdisaster.it&s=cdb377785af11a928e1b717fedc7b1eb6c8a77c572575c63d5449c74a65d80d0" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://disaster.it</a> was less nasty that the sesame chicken
It was edible and somewhat tasted like general two but overall experience is never go there
The food sucks
The service sucks.
An the prices are high for food I wouldn't feed to a dog. Or any animal/ human
Servers were great and on point during our first time visit here refilling our waters and teapot when it was getting low.
We ordered a few dishes and passed it around family style. 4 dishes (General Zhou's Chicken, Shrimp and Glazed Walnut, Mongolian Beef, Kung Bao Chicken) was plenty for 5 adults to satisfy our hunger pangs.
I really wasn't a fan of the General Zhou's Chicken. The sauce seemed very jello like, especially when it solidified in our take home box -- that was kind of gross. That gave me the thought -- "hm, I really wonder what's in the sauce?"
I was a fan of the Shrimp and Glazed Walnut. In comparison to the other foods we were eating, it was sweet and was a change from the salt in the other dishes. It wasn't overly saucy, and I like the texture of the shrimp.
The Mongolian Beef and Kung Bao Chicken was okay. It was a little too salty for me. I remedied that by drinking water and tea, and switching to a bite of the shrimp.
When I checked in on Yelp, I got a deal of "1 free order of egg rolls or rangoons OR 15% off  your entire order." Well, when we showed it to the cashier, they were giving me problems on whether they would accept it because it wasn't a print out coupon. This would be the first time I ran into problems using a Yelp deal. Perhaps they never heard of Yelp before? I had to explain to them that I wasn't able to print out the Yelp deal. Even after explaining, they were still iffy on accepting it.
In the end, they ended up accepting the coupon, but told me that the next time I should use an actual print out coupon. *sigh* It just seemed so complicated for something so simple. The food and this "coupon-accepting-experience" is how this place earned 3 stars from me.
We ordered Sesame Chicken, crab rangoon and wonton soup. Everything was hot and fresh. The lady in the front was very welcoming and friendly. I checked in on Yelp and redeemed the free crab rangoon they offered. It was great and I would definitely order it again. We recently moved into the Elgin area and  have found our spot for take out. It's great!
