I was staying at The embassy Suites Hotel where this restaurant is located and decided to hold a Welcome Dinner for my out of town guests and family. Planning this event was a pleasure with the Banquet Dept. Set up was lovely, and the private room was great...that is where it all fell apart. I had 22 guests on a preplanned menu...appetizers were coming out during entrees...some people were just getting their salads when others were done eating their entrees. Meals were sitting on the side table- and at one point I got up to serve them!!! They were cold. The waitresses were working hard BUT no one was watching and managing the food prep and service!!!! It took over 2 hours to serve everyone! I was so embarrassed! I spent so much time worrying and micromanaging the food service that I did not get a chance to mingle with my guests! They tacked on a 19% gratuity and I can assure you....they did not DESERVE it!

The food was not bad in and of itself. But it was cold and sporadic! Not what you would want for a sit down affair! This cost me over a Grand. I also heard other guests from events held there they would never go back.

We ate two other large party dinners in the resturant and they were also slow to serve. Meals came out very sporadically. Clearly they do not have enough kitchen staff OR they should change their menu to items that can be prepared faster.

I found the Cesar salad mediocre at best. The chicken was cold and still pink and the dressing had little to no flavor. The only good thing about my dinner was that they brought me the wrong wine, which ended up being delicious (and much more than I had wanted to spend on wine!) save your self a lame meal and drive into town for dinner.

I eat here all the time, normally I have the pulled-pork sliders but recently tried thier cheese burger.  Fantastic!  Plus I love that the fries are actual potato wedges.

Sat. 2/5/11 the worst restaurant experience of my life.  so totally amateur operation.   located inside the Embassy Suites Hotel in San Rafael,  they (whoever operates this concession) should simply burn their investment money or take a shot at the stock market.)
service in bar very pleasant. had glass of waiting for friend.  she arrived we we went to dinner prior to theatre.
waiter took couple in front of us to table (restaurant had only 3 occupied tables).  we waited and waited (i think the waiter was doing room service) so in desperation we found a couple of menus and seated ourselves which most others that followed did as well.  then you sit and wait.  observed just one other waiter on the floor, both Hispanic.
finally grabbed the 2nd waiter to take order.  never asked if we would like a beverage with our dinner.  waiters were bringing the complimentary free drinks during managers happy hours for hotel guests.  the table near us had 4 drinks each, taking 2 each to room.
restarant contined to get busy.  waiter delivered food and disappeared.  never came back for anything.  had to get our own water refills as did other guests.
food was just fine ... truly a simple menu... 1 green salad, 4 salads with chicken, a caesar with shrimp add-on available.  hardly the local/cali dining experience as promoted.  no problem with food ... definitely fresh and pleasant but nothing memorable.
now we need the check in order to get next door to theatre by 7:30.  finally chased a waiter down at host station while he was inputing an order into the computer.  asked if he woud bring our check soon since we had to leave shortly.  waited as he took orders, delivered a room service order.
finally just left what athought i owed + tax.  no tip. never received the check.
    a horrible dining experience.
n leaving mentioned it to the bartender that had served me earlier, who asked a manager hanging in the mostly empty bar ... never a single mgr even walking through the dining room, let alone assisting.  it's dinner hour idiot.  check it out.  of the offered the usual complimentary and obligatory comps.  no thanks, just fix the problem and protect the investment.

GM Embassy Suites ... these peopler represent you.  you need to get nvolved, walk through the dining room, sitdown and review the restaurants scheduling.  our experience, very understaffed particularly when you add room service into the mix ... and it really wasn't that busy.
