Their corn and crab chowder sounded so good on the menu, but what a disappointment! Imitation crab in a pasty tasting chowder. The corn was fine - fire grilled and from Indiana- but it was seriously the worst chowder I have ever had in my life. The service was fine, but what good is service when the food is awful?
Review Source:Pregnant girls! Â Do not pass go. Â Do not collect $200. Â Go directly to Grille 39 in Carmel. Â My mom's group, Mamas Helping Mamas spend a few Mondays a month having martinis here (none for you PG ladies), and I have to tell you, aside from those, I looooooooooove the apple crisp dessert which comes in a large hot bowl of deliciousness full of crispy delightful flavors that burst in your mouth and then a sweet cool refreshing vanilla bean ice cream to cleanse your pallet. Â OMG. Â I want one now. Â
For starters, the salads are always wonderful and I've had the salmon on multiple occasions and it is sooooo good. Â
The service is consistent and the restaurant is quiet, trendy and romantic if you want something a little more intimate. Â For medium groups, they have a semi-private room which is great for couples dinners out and they don't charge for the space.
Overall, this is a great meeting place for a nice meal if you want to hear yourselves talk or if you are looking for a fun, hot dessert to make your belly happy.
Great lunch buffet. Healthy salads. Petit sandwiches. Home made potato chips. Desert and drink included. They offered my company a half-off deal in January which made it a deal. Staff very professional. Given the lack of decent lunch choices in the area, worth a try. Also the best hotel in the area.
Review Source:I hate to say it, but the hotel's room service is actually better than the restaurant. Â Ordered the Asian Steak Salad, expecting some leafy greens, but ended up with a pile of lettuce stalk and napa cabbage. Â The dressing was nearly non-existent.
While service is extremely friendly, there were too many servers on the floor. Â It becomes quite annoying after 6 people ask you the same questions in span of 30 minutes.
I really like the hotel, but the lunch at the Grille needs help.
Not really a surprise as this is one of the nicest hotels in Indy. Â Grille 39 was a great place to have a quiet lunch with someone special. Â They play a special upbeat (but not loud) techno mix instead of the weird stuff you hear places. Â Food was excellent and served fast and hot - just the way I like it. Â Everything in this hotel, from the mix of stonework and stainless, carpet and leather, electronics and bamboo, feeds into the atmosphere here.
Review Source:Surprise place to get great steaks during the week in Carmel and get great service. Â Family thoughts are that big wig types that fly in need to have good food and good service so they better be good ALL the time here. Â So Carmel, you have a surprise good dinner place under your nose. Â And well-priced. Â Great style, too. Â And, you can "own" the place during the week. Â This hotel is all the style points. Â The chef must be good.
Review Source:Come to the Renaissance Hotel at the Indianapolis Airport. You will find Grille 39 inside the hotel. You will be greeted and served by a friendly staff in a classy yet-laid back atmosphere.
Appetizers are about $8, entrees $12-30, and adult beverages about $5. Try the chicken tenders! Hand breaded and they're quite delicious!
