Very disappointed, we traveled over an hour. Met old friends for Sunday night dinner. I had the special crap cakes, ice cold very little crab. Salsa as good and veggies okay. My wife had Grouper it was salty but edible, our friend had Halibut it was so salty he couldn't eat it. Other friend had Cedar plank salmon which was perfect. The waitress was great and attentive, although the manager was interested but never returned to offer his opinion. Definitely not worth the trip.
Review Source:Really an outstanding meal. Pregnant wife and I went for our 7th wedding anniversary dinner, thanks to a super generous gift card from an awesome student of mine. We went on the earlier side for dinner, during the week, so there would be less crowd and waiting for her - comfort is optimal for her at this point. Restaurant was beautiful - open and lots of natural light. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Our server, Joe, was fantastic - knew his stuff, gave lots of great recommendations, talked us through the menus and his personal favorites. Cocktails looked fantastic, and beer choices were varied, local and quality. Joe knew his beers as well, which was a very nice plus. We started with the steak and Kennet Square mushroom flatbread, which I liked and she loved. It was her choice, though, so that was good. We also had the Thai Curry mussels, which were delicious and were in an amazing, Indian-flavored curry sauce. I only wish there were a few more of them! Harvest's whole thing is calorically-aware, though, so hemming and hawing about portion size is kind of stupid. Wifey loved her salad, the Nutty Watermelon - strawberries, watermelon, blueberries, watercress, toasted almonds and a lime vinaigrette. Summery, fresh and very tasty. She had the salmon and a side of the honey jalapeno cornbread, which she loved and said was prepared perfectly. I had the BBQ Short Ribs in Mango Pineapple BBQ Sauce, which were fantastic and served with an even more amazing jimcama slaw and the awesome cornbread. Great recommendation, perfect meal. They brought over the dessert choices and we were delighted to hear they were all on the house as an anniversary gift. All served in big shot glasses, they were 250 calories a piece and they were great. The peanut butter cup was the best with the chocolate mocha cake directly behind it, and wifey liked the chocolate banana as well. Awesome meal, expertly prepared and served quickly, price was good - we'll be back for sure. And as we were leaving, 7pm or so on a Monday, it was packed. With good reason. Great, great spot.
Review Source:At first I was surprised at the Yelp rating but after today's lunch I understand. Â Harvest used to be more upscale now I feel like we dined at Applebees with (but with $12 glasses of wine).
The food was still good and well prepared but the service was patronizing and geared to the chain restaurant crowd. My husband and I aren't "guys", we don't care about the restaurant's mission statement or how long an item has been on the menu, and we don't care what our server's favorites are. Â We want food and wine appropriate to the price and service that recognizes we have read a menu and dined out before. Â We heard this same routine from 3 servers so feel it must be coming from management.
While we appreciate and even seek out restaurants with local, healthy and sustainable menues we will probably take our business elsewhere next time we are in the area.
