This place is excellent. Â The food is fresh, creative and delicious. Â On my most recent trip I started out with the Heritage Littlenecks, and they were OUT OF THIS WORLD. Â They are a sort of take on a clams casino, but instead are broiled with an artichoke pesto/spinach topping and bread crumbs. Â They were so tender and just plain YUM. Â My husband started with the stuffie, which was huge with large chunks of clam and then had the extremely lean, tasty and abundant pastrami sandwich special. Â My husband wants me to emphasize just how lean and not overly salty it was (with the perfect amount of mustard and melted sharp provolone). Â After the necks, I had the crab cake sandwich with spicy mayo. Â The crab was nice big chunks, and the cake was full of peppers. Â We each only finished about half our sandwiches, and did I mention the fries? Â They were hand-cut, twice fried perfection and sprinkled with what appeared to be sea salt. Â All that plus two BBC beers and a coffee was only like $50. Â We've been before, and they are pretty darn consistent too. Â It's a definite keeper.
Review Source:Simply put, Heritage Tap is a great place for dinner or lunch. Everything is cooked to order, specials every night, sometimes ones that are not on the menu but Joyce will let you know what they are. The Heritage Burger is one of the best burgers in the area, the fish & chips are colossal, and Dave is always cooking up something new.
It  may be small inside but there is nothing tiny about this place.
I'm sure this is a nice place to grab a bite and a drink. Â Atmosphere is comfy, and the folks seem nice. Â I, however, came for carryout Fish and Chips, twice. Â Both times the fish was greasy. Â The second time the chips looked like they had been reheated a couple of times before being dumped on me. Â Really disappointed.
Review Source:This tiny bar/restaurant is tucked away in a neighborhood totally disguised from non-local eyes. My hubby and I went here for a quick meal on a Friday night. The place was clean and seemed recently remodeled. The barkeeps/waitresses were polite and quick to serve. The crowd was definitely local and it seemed like most were repeat customers since the barkeep knew most of their names.
The food was decent. I wouldn't say it was out of this world, but for a small kitchen, the menu was pretty varied. The food took a while to cook and as we sat there the crowd got larger and the restaurant was on a wait when we left.
If I find myself in the general vicinity of this sweet place again, I'lll probably go again. If I lived in the neighborhood, I would go often.
Other yelpers gave this place awesome reviews and ratings. Â They were not lying. Â We live in the neighborhood and were looking for someplace close to get something good. Â I had passed by this place by accident and it stuck out in my head for some reason. Â It's a tiny bit off the main drag (Newport Ave), but easy to find with lots of on street parking. Â They have a full bar with 4 taps (3 which were craft). Â I ordered off the specials list - Portuguese Kale Soup and Haddock Rabe. Â Both awesome. Â My wife got the Chicken Francaise with Linguine. Â Also excellent. Â We got dessert to go. Â We haven't had it yet, but it looks delicious. Â The staff is very inviting and friendly. Â The place is definitely a spot that lives off repeat business and it's no surprise why people keep going back. Â Keep up the good work. Â We will return soon.
Review Source:All i can say is this place is a diamond in the rough. Â I am glad that yelp! led me to this place.
I ordered the Grilled Swordfish, twice baked potato, and steamed veggies. Â The meal was amazing. Â The real atmosphere of this place is the owner and his employees. Â Joyce who was tending bar treated me like i was part of the family. Â The Patrons of the tap really made me feel like i was a regular. Â One of the patrons gave me a slip for a free desert, which all the deserts are made by Joyce. Â The desert was a chocolate/peanut butter cake with a scoop of ice cream and whip cream. Â It was huge and awesome.
I would recommend Heritage Tap to all travelers and road warriors, if you are looking for a great home cooked meal and wonderful people to share it with. Â I hope to work back this way again just so i can visit the Heritage tap again.
Great local restaurant in a residential area with an array of delicious appetizers entrees, specials and deserts. A hidden gem of sorts, right here in Pawtucket!
I agree with other yelpers that this place may take a while but it is sooo worth it. Joyce and the girls are very friendly and quick to respond to any request. The place is small, but with it's friendly neighborhood atmosphere and home-like touches, you don't seem to notice.
The bathrooms are small but clean and well stocked.
Our most recent trip was with another couple and everyone left full bellied and happy.
The hubby and I started off spliting a home made crab cake - this is my favorite place to come for crab cakes, lots of crab, great texture and a dash of panko bread crumbs. We normally each get one of our own and skip desert but this night we changed things up.
I had the chicken and broccoli fettucinine alfredo and it was delisious. Just the right amount of creamy alfredo sauce over crispy chicken and perfectly done pasta, delicious and I even brought some of it home!
The man had the ribeye steak special with rice and veggies and cleaned his plate!
We finished it off with a slice of chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream...very decadent!!
If your in the neighborhood and you have some time, stop in and try this place for yourself!
Several years ago we decided to stop going to places like Uno's, Applebee's & Chilis. Â Their prices were no bargain and their food left a lot to be desired. Â Instead we would expand our horizons and give our business to smaller owner operated restaurants. Â That decision led us to the Heritage Tap, which years ago was a small neighborhood bar. Â We've been regulars ever since.
The food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Â Joyce is terrific - she makes everyone welcome. Â Sometimes we split appetizers and a pizza and a couple of beers and other times we'll order our own entrees. Â I'm a big fan of the Chicken Parm. Â Be sure the check out the specials - David (the owner) always keeps things spiced up with different dishes.
This may be one the best places to have a great and I mean great casual meal. Wow! The location is a corner building tucked off Newport ave in a residential neighborhood. When you walk in you are greeted by staff in a truly genuine manner. The decor is simple but the atmosphere seems to just put you in a good mood. The service is top notch. The staff is engaged in delivering great service with a touch of personal flare. People did seem to know each other here but not in the typical exclusive attitudes you can get in neighborhood places. Now for the food. This guy Dave can just flat out cook. You won't find pretentious presentations with no substance here. Exceptionally flavored and prepared meals, generously proportioned and priced well. Enough of this. Just go there. If you can truly say you did not like your meal, e-mail me and I will pay for it! Well not really but you get the idea!
Review Source:Places like the Heritage Tap prove how valuable Yelp's mobile app is to the wandering eater. My boyfriend and I were tired from shopping and wanted a place to cozy up and have a hot meal and a drink or two. We would never have found the Heritage on our own.
Right through the door, we were greeted like family. We had a great time at a table near the back, soaking in the locals and the beers. Their pizza was awesome, and I could see their kitchen staff working hard behind the half-door near the bar. There was a great vibe that I didn't anticipate with what I saw as a run-down exterior. I now realize the place is just lived in and loved.
This is my favorite restaurant. We go there 1-2 times a week. Every time I end up going to another restaurant I end up comparing it to the Heritage and it doesn't come close. Dave the chef/owner with his amazing food and Joyce and her staff with their awesome, personalized service have ruined all other restaurants for me. I only want to go here now it seems. The salmon and all other seafood is brought in fresh, daily. Try the maple Dijon salmon. This place is a destination and not the type of place to go before trying to make a movie. I have almost had everything on the menu and it's all great. The daily specials menu has appetizers, soups, entrees and desserts. All of these categories have 4-6 items and they change often but the favorites tend to last. They have a great permanent menu but I tend to order off of this specials menu. Great beers on tap too from the Berkshire Brewing Company (BBC).
Review Source:The Heritage Tap is a hidden gem, tucked into the Darlington neighborhood of Pawtucket. The tiny restaurant consists of a bar and about 10 tables. And everyone knows everyone.
The food is amazing and fresh. Try the Chicken parm. It's legendary. It's the only dish I've ever eaten here because it's that good.
Prices are great, the portions are enormous and the staff is treats you like family.
This place is great!
I'd really like to give a bad review so we can always get a table, but I can't.
Joyce is great and knows all the regulars by name and what they like to drink. No typical pub grub here. Although they've got sandwiches, pasta and burgers on the menu, their specials are where it's at. Prices are great, food is fantastic and always fresh. Â Grilled pizza is thin, crispy and delicious. The few times we've had room for the homemade desserts we weren't disappointed.
Because it's small and only a few servers, it can be awhile for your food, so plan for that.
AMAZING!!!! I absolutely love this place! The food is always so good and so fresh! It can take a while but well worth it! Joyce is awesome and Dave, a great chef and owner! I am from Pawtucket, but live in Los Angeles, and I ALWAYS make it a point to eat here at least once when I visit! I crave the pesto littlenecks, and the seafood platter is so good, as well as the crab cakes! The specials are always good, just ask joyce! They have something for everyone, and be sure to check out the desserts... I can't wait to visit home again so I can eat here
Review Source:Walking into the Tap feels like you are walking into a family party. Joyce the waitress welcomes you in and tells you all about the wonderful (made from scratch) food that Dave the chef/owner has come up with today. Great pasta, grilled fish and meats, hand made French fries: Â I could go on and on. Â The portions are huge and the prices are great! Â Veal Maria and the Cajun Pork ( actually anything that includes pork) is going to be a delicious experience for you. It's very casual and cozy. Â I feel conflicted about sharing the Tap with you all: Â I kind of want to keep it for myself.
