The staff here seem like they are miserable. It feels as if everyone is giving you the cold shoulder. Think you will get checked up on? Yeah right, you literally have to scream at them to come over and bring new coals. All this being said about the service, their coals are actually not bad and have a variety of tasty flavors. i always really like melon. There is an in n out in the plaza and we usually will get some grub and then come over here to lounge around. I've never seen them extremely busy, if you see this in some reviews, it's probably from way back.
Review Source:I have been going to Hidden for a VERY long time. Â They have half-price hookahs 6-8 p.m. Â which works great for me. Â Â I have tried many other hookah bars but they rarely impress. Â Hidden uses real and coconut charcoal, not those terrible instant light ones and they use top-notch Starbuzz tobacco. Â When it gets busy, service can be a little bit slow but overall this is a great hangout spot.
Review Source:Hidden Cafe is convenient if you live in the Anaheim Hills area but sometimes their service can be a little slow. Also, I am middle eastern and know what "good hookah" tastes like. So when I tell the employee that it doesn't taste right, I don't appreciate him trying it and saying "it tastes fine to me."
Price is decent, probably a couple dollars overpriced.
Overall the place is okay if you're in a pinch.
I remember when Hidden Cafe first open to replace the Nickel Nickel that went out of business. I've have seen it age through its many years of service and honestly, it was fun at first but not it's just a dump. At one point they had bouncers to regulate people getting in. I guess they abandoned it because the idea behind it was pretty lame.
In any case, service is horrendous. Sometimes if not usually it takes forever to get seated let alone being approached by someone who will take your order.
They clearly never clean their hookahs. The last time I went, they ran out of tips and explained to simply sanitize it by putting a lighter under it. WTF?! Not only is that ghetto but just stupid; the pipe is made out of plastic.
I'm aware it's the only hookah lounge in a ten mile radius so I'm giving it a star for that factor. Plus sometime in the past month they reupholstered all their dirty and burnt benches and chairs. And they actually seemed to have cleaned their hookah.
Descent hookah place. Prices are pretty cheap $8-12 and they also have a happy hour. Nothing special and the place is a little run down. The service is absolutely  terrible, you will be waiting awhile to get more coals. If you really need a hookah fix then it might not be a bad spot, but there are definitely better spots out there
Review Source:Been here a few times with friends. Never been let down. I personally like the strawberry and the blue mist.
Dudes usually come around and fix the coals without you asking for them so you can keep smokin' the good hits off the hookah. (+)
Happy hour 6-8, always. (+)
House / Electric music is playing in the background.
Sports games or movies are playin' on the tv screen. I'm a big fan of basketball and football, so this works for me when I want to relax.
Free Wifi! Do your homework if you're in school or check up on stuff for work. (+)
Will be coming back next week with buddies!
Too dark, too loud, and too bro-filled for me to patronize. I prefer far tastier and cheaper hookah at places where I can actually hear and see my friends and have a conversation with them. Hookah is traditionally a laid-back and communal activity, but this place seems to think that it's a clubbing thing. No thanks.
Review Source:a decent hookah place located in anaheim hills. Â i only say that because i don't have to drive that far, since its pretty much located down the street from me. Â lol
my friend and i got the vanilla and coke mix, for about 12 bucks. Â it was decent for the price i paid. Â it was packed very well and the flavor and smoke lasted for a very long time.
i also got the guava drink for 2 bucks. Â its comes in a 10 oz cup, but it was really nice to drink something that was refreshing!
the coal boys come around every 20 mins, and are very professional with rearranging your coals and giving you new ones.
they have happy hour from 6-8 daily. Â i believe. Â don't quote me on that. Â its 1/2 off on hookahs.
the music is banging in here, and they play your top 40s...with more bias leaning towards house/electro. Â sometimes the volume gets loud, and if you wanna talk you gotta shout.
PS: free wifi.
The only positive thing I have to say about this place is that it was clean.
In all my years of living in Anaheim Hills I had never gone to Hidden.Tonite I was seated, orderd where I waited a good 20PLUS MINUTES(mind you, there was no crowd) ...after the 20 min mark is where I couldn't tell you if they ever brought out the hookah..I had left with a friend to Fusion Cafe in Anaheim where I have never had to wait longer than 5mins for my hookah. So with all of that being said this is my first Yelp review....I never thought I would have to write one but I was truly appalled at the lack of service.
For a pittance ($14), you'll get 2 hours of ring-blowing hookah at HC. The plush seating is limited, but you'll be kept comfortable with a mix of Turkish/Persian and Arabic music over the PA. Hookah techs tend to your needs, bringing you hot chocolate, tea and clearing your smoking equipment for maximal pleasure. Might I recommend pumpkin and vanilla mixed tobacco, and have them sprinkle cinnamon on it as well. De-lightful. Â
The owner is a cool guy and I'm probably at fault for again being connected to him through a friend and knowing him on a personal level, but that's what it's all about: MY personal experience!
I've gone here 3 times now, in 2 weeks. It has taken a toll on my cardio program at the gym. But I'm down less than $50 total! Heyyyoooo!
I would highly recommend taking the time getting to know the owner, a Palestinian dude with a Persian wife. He's good people.
the first time i went here my experience was great. they were quick on coal changing and kept asking if i needed anything.
the second time i went there they were complete jerks. this one guy was very rude to my friend and i. service was slow and they waiter did the grossest thing...every time someone ordered a hookah he would bring it out and "test it out" for them. That's gross, no one wants other people's lips on something they're about to stick in their mouth, especially if the other person is a stranger. all the other waiters were professional and nice except for this one pathetic loser who was trying to be cool in front of everyone.
I come here at least once a month. Â It's a great spot to chill and relax with friends or by yourself. Â Free wifi. Â Just ask someone for the password. Â The hookahs are pretty damn good here. Â They burn longer than any other places I been to. Â Not to mention the selection of flavors they have. Â The hidden mix is just delicious. Â The service is great. Â All you gotta do is press the flood light on the table. Â Not that hard. Â If you had a bad experience here, it's because you went when it was super busy (weekends/sporting event/etc). Â It is difficult to get a table then, unless you don't mind waiting. Â
As for the location, the name says it all. Â It is a bit hard to find it since you can't see it from the streets. Â Just turn into the plaza with the in n out and you'll find it.
Been going here since 2008 and I have yet to see a problem. They are very helpful and very understanding. Don't like a flavor you picked? Tell them and they will make one that'll satisfy your taste! Coal service used to be moderate but they have these new coals (coconut coals) that are insane and last about 45 or so minutes, but def. does not need to be replaced for awhile (SUPER like). Either than that, there drinks are awesome (Guava Juice / Rose water) and their food is pretty good and quick (Hummus & the sandwiches). Music is well rounded if you like R&B, Trance, Techno, and at times Persian remix music. They have two large TV's on the wall and another one near the entrance. The environment is nice and chill and their crowd is always "mature." What I love about this place is that it closes at 2AM (Sun - Thurs) and their Friday and Saturday is open till 4AM. Def a place to kick it with large groups and even small, large open space and a friendly and quick staff.
Thanks Hidden!

Hidden Cafe  . . .
One of the best hookah spots in all of so cal. As a hookah connoisseur, it  generally takes a lot for me to leave my hookah to go out and pay for hookah.
Hidden Cafe is that type of location. Friendly staff and owners, the more you go the more they get to know you, and they will make you feel a part of their hookah family. They use real coals, and high quality tobacco, meaning they do NOT cut corners. The music is lively, but not obtrusive enough to prevent having a decent conversation with a friend or a date.
If you show up unannounced they will do their best to get you in as soon as they can. Once you are in, they wont try to force you to leave. If you are there, you are their guest.
It is a fun place to relax after work or to have fun on a friday or saturday night.
ive been here many times en i never had to complain bout this place. en even if i did, i would ask en the servers would be generous to do so.
i came here 4 days in row this week en loved it.
the past two days we asked for a house blend, 15 different flavors, IT WAS GREATTT!!
its like sweet with many different fruits en towards the end, its like sort of minty in a way. it changes everyday.
the managers reaaal cool too, you just gotta get to know him.
i love how they play a bit of trance, house, hip hop every time the track changes. it reallly fits the mood.
i had a reaal sh*tty day but right when i walked in i was relaxed en having fun.
ive never tried their food here, but oneday i might, looks pretty good when you look over a table whos eating [x
just be patient en you'll get the service youll need
Chill place. Movie nights are cool. Laker games and UFC fights. That's just the beginning. I've been to Hookah lounges from SF, Vancouver, Seattle, DC, NYC, Chicago, India, and Pakistan...
You have to know the place to right a review of it. For one thing, I've been going to either Hidden for years. Why?
The owners are friendly. The waiting staff always has change overs so I've already grown accustomed. If you want free wi-fi, some good hookah, not as loud as Dream cafe, and still be able to hang with your friends. You come here. It's clean and if you have a problem, you can tell them without backlash or anyone spitting in your food.
They use regular coals, not the crappy quick start coals that some hookah cafes use.
The music is a variety or mixes, from Arabic to Desi to House to Hip Hop.
Big Groups can call in early and reserve the couches.
They also have a frequent hookah card, for every 10 you get one free. Happy hour is every day 6-8pm hookah half off. With Hookah being expensive everywhere...it's a steal.
It's comfy, it's lively, it's chill. Have some fun with friends.
Too loud, very poor service, acceptable flavors, good size. Â
It took us forever to get a waiter to take our order, and then even longer to get coals after we had the hookahs (which came out fairly promptly). Â The hose kept falling out of one of them, and after some intense flagging someone eventually came over and attempted to fix the problem. Â It continued, and many minutes later someone else came over and actually fixed it. Â It wasn't even that crowded during this visit.
Don't be hatin' on the 18-20 year olds. Â Everyone needs a place to hang out and relax with friends with rather (but not obscenely) loud music. Â Good for them for finding Hidden. Â
If you don't mind poor service (and it's not that necessary), Hidden is a fine choice for a place to chill in OC.
I like coming here with a group and hanging out for a bit. I usually come early in the evening though to avoid having to wait or putting up with groups of tittering Esperanza high schoolers. The drinks are pretty bad, so stick to bottled water. During peak hours you will have to wait for coals and once or twice they've forgotten my drinks or tobacco refill. It's close to home and they have a "frequent buyer card" which is a minor perk. Sometimes the music is too loud but it's still fun if you bring good company.
Review Source:I used to like this place when the actual owner ran it, but now it's terrible. Â You have to be friends o the workers to get service, so when you do ask for coal, expect to be ignored. Â Also, the seating is very uncomfortable, they've got these little tiny tables and you're kinda squeezed in with everyone else so when you ash the coal, its all over you in a minute. Â Also, when you leave, smell your clothes...they'll smell like coal. Â This place sucks, trust me, you'll feel awkward when you go, if you complain, oh my god, it feels like you're gonna get killed...place sucks...
Review Source:This place is terrible!!  Never go here, its expensive and all of  the staff members have terrible attitudes and act as if they don't need the business. When my friends and I walked in no one greeted us and its impossible to hear anyone over obnoxious techno music.
Halfway through our visit they turned off the music and started playing the equally obnoxious movie "Madea Goes to Jail"
Whenever we asked for anything the employees rolled their eyes
I'm never going there again!
never had a problem here. the servers are cool just gota warm up to them. the hookahs are great, and the music though loud at times is usually pretty good, at least when they keep it on the trance/house xm station. they play movies and sports games sometimes. of course theres alot of kids that come here. what the heck else are they gona do.
its a good place if you dont mind the kids and noise.
This place is usually packed. Full of youngin's who aren't old enough and those who are but choose to spend their nights here just to chill and be away from the bar scene. There's usually a good mix of people and there's lot's of eye candy to peruse while billowing your cloud of fruit scented smog into the air. Good looking women, good hookah, and friends. What more can a person ask for? Good service, that's what!
My friends and I were there on a Saturday night. The place wasn't packed, but still good. We managed to get a table right away. We chose what we wanted but had to wait about 10 minutes before anyone would take our order despite us putting the table light on to signify that we needed service. When we finally put in our order it took 10 mintues for the hookah to come out. Not too bad right? Do you know what's essential in smoking a good hookah? Coal. Nice hot coal. We didn't get any for about 20 minutes. We waited and looked around. Finally a guy came around to give everyone fresh coals. RIght when he gave the table next to us their coals he ran out the door to talk to his friends! My friends and I just kinda looked at each other in disgust and my friend said, "you better Yelp this place." I guess the only way you'll get any attention in this place is if you're a good looking girl.
Hidden Cafe, I hope you receive the same amount of luck as The Hidden Kitchen and close down.
The Good: Dim and loud atmosphere, sort of like a club. Â If you're into hip-hop music, flashing lights, and smoking hookah, this is it. Â I like this place when I'm in the right mood. Â If you want to go somewhere chill, go to the one in Anaheim. Â
The Bad: Sometimes, it could get a lot of hectic and this place does get busy during those weekends. Â
Try: the iced tea. Â It's made very well.
Don't Try: touching the coals with your bare hands. Â Obviously.
I have a confession to make. After quitting a while back, I've started smoking hookah again.
This place is alright. The flavors are good, but sometimes, the hookahs they use can be in various states of disrepair. The last few times I've gone, my hookah had leaks, introducing air into my hose as I tried to smoke the shisha. I confirmed this by blowing into the hose and feeling for escaping air.
Also, it's too dark and the music is too loud. It can be difficult to talk to your friends sometimes. If they turn the lights up just a little bit and turn down the sound a notch, I think I would have a better time.
Alas, this place will never compare to my old favorite, Al Basha Cafe.
This is pretty much a 18-20 year old hang out. It is a bar for those too young to go to an actual bar. The dark lighting and loud music make it difficult to do much except smoke hookah, which seems contrary to the social atmosphere hookah bars are supposed to be. I guess they see themselves as being to hookah what Lucky Strike is to bowling.
It wouldn't be too bad except for their ridiculous rules. One hookah per 2 people. Most other places don't care how many people use a hookah as the more people that use one usually mean the shisha burns faster and they'll order more. With their one hookah per 2 people rule, you're pretty much stuck smoking one the whole night. Not good for those who like to try different flavors. It is also incredibly unfair to odd numbered groups. Imagine a bar having a 4 drink minimum for couples, but any single customer has to buy 4 drinks for himself. It is also horrible for people who don't smoke. They used to let you off the hook as long as you bought some food and drink, but the last time I was there they told my friend he had to get a hookah. Haven't been back since. Rules like that are why the only people who go here are 18 yr old kids with nowhere else to go.
I've never had a worse time at a hookah bar. Â I went with a couple of my friends and we dropped nearly 200 dollars on different types of hookah, drinks and food and all we got from the servers was attitude. Â Every time we asked to order something else the waitress would roll her eyes so far back into her head I thought they were going to get stuck. Â They also tried to force our party of eight into a table with only four chairs while keeping a booth "reserved" for a different party. Â However, that party never actually showed up so we eventually demanded to be moved which they agreed to let us do after several complaints. Â Basically, I felt that I paid way too much for mediocre products and crappy service. Â I'll never go back again.
Review Source:In my health-defiant, eff-cancer, hookah heyday, there was nothing better than a jaunt to Hidden Cafe to smoke 4 hookahs. Now, its been nearly 2 years since I've been (and renounced hookah), so proceed with caution.
What made the experience here all the more nourishing was their little menu of Mediterranian appetizers and beverages to wash all that smoke down with-- fruit smoothies, hummus? They've got it. The crowd is definitely young-- newly minted 18 year olds quick to flash their now-valid ID's. It lacks the sophistication that an older crowd would favor and I doubt I'd venture here anymore. TVs are always on and the music (hip hop, house) is bass heavy.
The flavors of hookah range from the usual Apple to more exotic offerings. Also, they do combination blends as well. There are plenty of tables and a few couches strewn about.
I've never left here without a thick raspy voice the next day-- a mark of a productive evening. They also have a hookah VIP card-- smoke 9 hookahs and get the 10th one free.
As with their other location, this is a hang out for the young crowd. Â The 18+ crowd. Â The college student crowd. Â There are 3 TVs on at all times, all showing showing the same program (on my visit it was Ultimate Fighting... not quite what you'd expect to be watching in the supposed relaxing confines of a hookah lounge, but peep the clientele). Â The TV volume was turned up just loud enough to be overly intrusive and not very easy to drown out.
We sat at our table for several minutes before we were even acknowledged. Â We almost felt intrusive for turning on our table light as a final, desperate attempt to be noticed. Â
Long story short, we won't be back. Â The biggest disappointment was being there for close to 30 minutes before we could even get the "coal guy" to come over and heat our hookah FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME. Â It was like he had blinders on and he stuck mainly to the room's perimeter (we were dead center, you'd think we'd be fairly easy to spot).
The two star rating is given (as opposed to one) since our coal guy came to finally appreciate that we were the only table in the place that wasn't being rude and waving him to come over. Â Once he realized we were treating him respectfully he did make several returns to freshen our coals.
My friend and I keep trying various hookah lounges and it seems that most of them (like Hidden Cafe) cater to a young, loud clientele who likes their hip-hop and HAS to have a TV on. Â In the whole of Orange County we've now found only TWO places that are more traditional, attracting an older group of patrons, and make you feel welcome and respected when you're there. Â (For the sake of preserving these gems' anonymity I won't post them here, but you can contact me privately if you'd like more info.)
