I had the brisket slider. Delicious, better with their BBQ sauce. They seem to give you a whole potato worth of french fries. It gets loud sometimes when the jukebox is playing. The service was poor, but I think its because there was a big party, seemed like 20 people eating and drinking with their kids on the side. I think our server was looking to get a big tip from them and she had to ignore us a bit to do so. I cost her a nice tip from us, but i would go back for the food anytime.
Review Source:I have to say I wasn't expecting this kind of place where it was located. It's a solid bar and the tri-tip sliders that everyone talks about are amazing. And it came with a ton of fries. There's a good selection of beers and the place was pretty busy on a Friday night. It's a good spot to come with a bunch of friends and have good food & some drinks.
Review Source:If I could give 10 stars I would. Â We've been going there for lunch, dinner, brunch, NFL/NBA games, any excuse really. Â Today was the first time we experienced their catering capabilities. Â We always bbq for special occasions but decided to take a break for Mother's Day...We may never bbq again. Â Ribs were amazing, pulled pork delicious, chicken perfect. Â I can't say enough about the food except nothing disappointed! Thank you Greg!
Review Source:I have been here many times and the food is great. Â One of the owners always acknowledges me (which is cool). Â I have a had a company function here. Â And I usually stop in while my car is getting washed next door. Â Just picked up a to go order for wings. Â The staff was great as usual. Â The owner shook my hand and said "hi. Â how's it going" as usual. Â But the the charge for the meal was unusual. Â No receipt and the wings were just under $15.00. Â I also tipped the customary 20% ($3.00). Â The menu online states $10.50. Â I feel like I may have been ripped off. Â I know its not much but I felt it was worth mentioning. Â
- 1 star for the price discrepancy.
I will be back tho.
I was having a hankering for BBQ the other night, but was not in the mood to go far, so I pulled out my trusty old yelp app and was lucky enough to find this place. It is definitely a dive bar, but a great one at that. It was a random weeknight and even at 8 it was pretty packed with people. It even looked like there was some sort of legal poker tournament going on? Don't know how they do it, but they do.
For dinner I ordered the BBQ tri-tip plate and the bf ordered the ribs. Both of the meals were really great and served with coleslaw, baked beans, and a humungous piece of texas toast. The BBQ was some of the best I've had in awhile and the service was great. What's not to like? Can't wait to return when I have my next craving. Good job The Hollywood Way!
A nice neighborhood bar. Â Met some friends here for St. Patrick's day and had a lot of fun. Â Lots of TV's and the staff is really friendly (our waitress took a shot with us).
Reasonable prices, but nothing particularly special. Â Good place if you're in the neighborhood, but not worth going out of your way for.
An above average neighborhood bar - I would give 3.5 stars if I could. It's a classic dive/sports bar, and the girls here are very friendly. I was here for St Patrick's Day and the service speed was good and the drinks were plenty and fairly priced.
Another reason it's above average is because the food surpassed my expectations - it's certainly a notch better than your typical bar food! A worthwhile bar if you happen to be in the area and need a drink or three.
As a consumer who has visited the Hollywood way bar since they opened I have had may negative experiences here. Over the years I have been in attendance with groups spending hundreds of dollars  and also recommending this place to many friends. I have been closed out of this bar with as many as 10 people spending money inside at around midnight on saturday nights due to lack of volume to keep employees which I understand but with 10 people or so on a Saturday night really?? Based on that I decided to return. After a night of spending around $400 between my group of 4 we were accused of taking a bottle of liquor from the bar top as they were closing out. I was told they would check the camera and get to the bottom of this. I hope they do!! As a customer what makes me want to come back after spending our hard earned money then being accused as thiefs. Good job Hollywood Way Staff!!
Review Source:Great place to satisfy a rib craving on your way to Burbank airport. Â Â The rack of ribs and hot links were both superb. Â Salad was OK. Â Baked beans left something to be desired. Â Service was fast and very friendly. Â Sports bar atmosphere, so don't come here expecting a quiet dinner.
Review Source:I've eaten here and had beers a few times. The staff are great and the atmosphere is real fun. The BBQ is the best anywhere around.
I did take out for a poker game last week. The food was awesome, blew my friends away! Jackie the manager was really smart, friendly and helpful. A real pro! Thanks!
My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out, I haven't tried looking for good ribs since we moved to LA and I am happy to say I don't have to look much further then The Hollywood Way. The staff was incredibly nice and the food was amazing. We split the ribs which fell right off the bone and had the perfect amount of flavouring. They had a great selection of drinks behind the bar. Cant wait to come back with a bunch of friends!
Review Source:Great food and GREAT burgers. Â The owner is a phenom guy and it's a great place to watch a game too. Â It's one of those "Don't judge a book by its cover places"...The walk-up is not the best but the atmosphere in the place and the quality of the food FAR outweighs the parking lot/car wash next door...which for the record, does a really good job on your car. Â Hollywood Way just south of Burbank on the west side. Â Enjoy. Â We always do!
Review Source:I like the Hollywood Way...Burbank was long overdue for a place like this that wasn't located downtown on San Fernando.
All by it's lonesome on -- you guessed it -- Hollywood Way, The Hollywood Way is serving up decent barbecue and cold beer. Now they do have a full bar, but who orders a dirty martini with a pulled pork sandwich? Not this guy.
A major plus to this place (verses other bar/restaurants in the area), is the ability to host large parties. THW offers beer towers and large seating areas, perfect for bigger groups, as well as a variety of high-def televisions for watching all of your favorite sports action.
I've had everything from the salads to the pulled pork and have never been disappointed. There prices are fair, the service good and the parking abundant. They also cater! I have known quite a few people who order their awesome macaroni cheese in bulk and take it home for parties! (hint: great idea and your friends will love you forever).
My only negative is the sound. Now I'm no old man, but the design of the place makes it super boomy. In reality, patrons probably aren't even talking that loud. However, the walls echo and bounce so much that it can seem difficult to even hold a conversation with the people at your table.
Other than that, great place, give it a try!
Burbank does not have the greatest reputation as a place for lunch, but The Hollywood Way goes a long way toward curing that. Excellent -- and enormous -- hamburgers, solid salads, and a very friendly staff. It's right down the street from my office, and I don't mind coming here to grab a bite on a work break. It is slightly more expensive than some of the other places in the area (by about $2-$3), but given the local competition, it's a premium they can get away with charging.
Review Source:When they give us the company card to buy lunch at work, we pick this place.
My first time here, I got a burger and I regretted it. Since then I tried a couple of the other items but my favorite is the half BBQ chicken. I was reluctant to try it at first because I've had bad experiences when I've done so at other BBQ joints. It wasn't dry but moist and tasty.
I had my B-day gathering here recently and watched a game. Great set up . Large beer selection. Good food (NOTE to cooks: my onion straws were over cooked.... quality control people!) Our waitress was awesome! We called about and hour before getting there to reserve a table. When we walked in, she had our tables ready! She was attentive the whole night. Â I had a good experience.
Verdict: Flat screen T.Vs  EVERYWHERE! YEAH! COLD BEER, Good Food, Good Service.
Watch your sporting event HERE. Support small business.
Note : I will update my review after subsequent visits.
Baby, you're smokin'. Because they smoke their own meat, they differentiate themselves from other surrounding sports bars. Pulled pork nachos, smoked (slightly) buffalo wings, along with a slew of IPAs and Angry Orchard Cider on draft. Prompt table service, bottomless bloodies and mimosas in the morning, we have ourselves a well-rounded ridiculously unhealthy and fun sports breakfast. A comfortable setting with every TV well-placed -- and labeled -- for NFL Sunday. The track lighting, and lighting placement is a bit off (yes, classic knit-picky yelping)... I'm just crazy sensitive to light ("then stay in your own damn man cave, yelper!"). But... I don't have a smoker like yours -- or as many TVs. Over the past 6 months I've come to realize why my friends are here -- All. The. Time.
Review Source:Some of my co-workers were going to this place the other day for lunch. I had to stay behind at work, but they offered to bring some food back for me (nice team...these guys are great). They mentioned they had a pulled pork sandwich, and I was sold.
When they brought the food back for me, the sandwich was $9.50, and the fries were $2.50. Basically, it was $13.05 including tax (not including tip).
The fries were decent, but had WAY too much salt.
I'm a big fan of toasted brioche bun's, so I was delighted to find this is what they use in their pulled pork sandwich. The coleslaw definitely rounds out the flavor and helps provide a nice crunchy texture to go with the soft meat.
The chipotle aioli is a nice touch.
The texture of the pulled pork was not too bad. It was definitely soft, but there was something about the sandwich as a whole that tasted a little more salty than it needed to be.
My cats, who love pulled pork, came up and begged for some, of which I was happy to share a few pieces. They had the same reaction as me, they enjoyed the first few bites, but then backed off, and went straight for the water. Now, if my cats and I have the same reaction, there might be a correlation there.
I might stop in sometime to give the benefit of the doubt, and to see if it's possible to order items "easy on the salt." I'm curious to see if it's the sauce that has too much salt, or if there is extra added salt when the food is being assembled and prepared.
-1 star for being a little pricey for lunch.
-1 star for being way too salty overall.
Why you would give this place 5 stars:
1. You love the taste of over-sauced, chewy bbq meat.
2. You love it when your waitress avoids any eye contact and chooses to ignore you whenever you need to place a food order or ask for another drink.
Do yourself a favor and either not go here, or just sit at the bar.
I've been here numerous times, and recently this place is going down the drain. The food is alright to say the least, and yes, the service as mentioned by other reviews below is TERRIBLE. I understand that it's a bar and not to expect awesome service, but come on a 5 year old can do the job better than any of the girls that work here.. but then again, maybe that's why they're working at a dive bar in the valley? bOoM!
The two stars are for the food and the bartenders... The missing three are for the table service! The WORST table service you'll find. It took an hour to get one beer... Â The waitresses avoid eye contact like its their job. I enjoy counting how many times they'll pass by before "checking in", and by that I mean grabbing one by the wrist as she runs by and demanding attention.
Ridiculous. Stay close to the bar... You can still get the delicious food there... Way less hassle.
I've now been here 3 times over the past year. Visit 1: food was good but service was slow, with the joint about 1/3 full. Visit 2: food was great but service was slow, with the joint about 3/4 full so I could understand. Visit 3: food was back to being just good. The burger has shrunk in size since the last visit, so either they were over-generous last time or they're being cheap today... is the glass half full or half empty?
Today our waitress didn't write down our orders, which meant that the bacon cheeseburger came back sans bacon, and my BBQ chopped salad, no corn, no tortilla chips, dressing on the side, came back slathered in dressing, BBQ sauce on the side. (??)
Don't get me wrong, our waitress was super friendly and the food is tasty, but I just never know what I'm going to get when I visit here, and I wish the waitress would use a notepad =/
Came in here for the 2nd.
Not too much a fan of this place. Â I was here a few months ago, to catch the Kings play during the Stanley Cup Playoffs and only one TV was playing the game, but there was a DJ playing some music and made it impossible to pay attention to the game.
Came in here again on Saturday day night which was pretty quite and chill (Which I hoped would have been like this the previous visit). Â Only had a root beer though as I was the Designated Driver. Â I do have to say my experience the 2nd time was better than the first
I don't know when the next time I'll be here again but I'm not going to say I didn't like it. Â As of now, I think this place is Okay.
Came back in for a beer and to watch the game last night. I was not disappointed at all, the beer was cold and the huge Memphis burger I ordered hit the spot. I enjoy the sweet bold tang of the BBQ sauce. Much Better service this time, Yusef was very personable and seemed more into his job and being attentive than the female bartender we had last time.
Wednesday Is wing night, maybe one of these night I'll make it in and give them a try.
FIRST to all who are drawn to this place for the Bottomless Mimosas & Bloodies IT IS NO LONGER OFFERED!!!!!
Yup finding that out was sort of a blow to the gut, we planned on drinking all Sunday morning to kick off the Football season. The alternative was a $7 Bloody Mary (decent size) and they had a Bloody Mary Fixins Bar, I thought it was wierd at first but appreciated the variety (horseradish, olives, black pepper, peppercinos, pickles, hot sauce and so on)
Service kind of slow our waitress just kept spacing out........i just dont know but its a bar i dont expect 5 star service but damn come on, at least get my order right
The food (thai sweet chili wings and fries) not bad, Oh yeah the Dos Equis draft hit the spot
The sports, plenty of good size screens, big plus
I suggest the owner just double the price for the bottomless option...I would pay, voice your opinion maybe he will change his mind
Ever since this place opened I had a hankering for baby back ribs but we have never gone here mostly because I like to bring my own lunch to work and on the off days I don't, no one wanted this kinda food.
A couple of the new guys "discovered" this place and have been raving about it ever since. FInally, I went here for lunch with the old guys (I've been for drinks and the $1 tacos but that doesn't count).
Naturally, despite harping on about the ribs, I can't eat all of that food for lunch or even dinner. I wanted a salad but after seeing it delivered to another table in a mega huge soup bowl decided not. Had the lunch special like everyone else at the table.
For about $10 you get half a BBQ Tri Tip sandwich, a small house or ceaser salad with dressing and a choice of potato salad, coleslaw, chips or fries. I chose house and potato salad cause I was told it was mustard-y not mayonaise-y. It was served on a lettuce leaf but it was all scooped like an ice cream which was totally weird to me. It was ok and had little chopped up bits of pickle and bell peppers (?) with it. Sandwich was very meaty and BBQ sauce-y and cheese-y. It was nice for a change and I liked the toasted bread. Â Everyone else had the same thing but different side choice. They loved it!
It was kinda packed when we arrived but managed to park out front and snag a table. It was pretty noisy but we were in a corner where the sound, apart from cheering at the sport on the TV, didn't really reach and you could carry out a conversation.
Waitress was nice and the guys seemed to like the fact that she was blonde and busty :)
Tri-tip in Burbank?!?! YUP
This place makes really good barbecue. There's a TON of big screen TVs, a good local crowd, and the service is friendly. They have several beer selections on tap that aren't what you'd find at somewhere like a Chili's.
Hollywood Way is now on my list regular meal stops in the Burbank area!
Here is the long and the short of it:
The Short - The BBQ is good. The Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich is delicious, as is the Four Taco Combo. Kudos to the cooks and kitchen staff.
The Long - The service is absolutely god-awful. Prepare to (a) be utterly ignored by most of the employees, (b) have your dinner order screwed up or lost completely (we waited 45 minutes until we found out that our order had been "accidentally deleted"), (c) be treated like vermin by the retarded, strip-club-bouncer-reject floor managers who don't have the 'nads to look you in the eye, Â and (d) be over-charged (check your bill unless you want to pay double the "happy hour" prices).
That's pretty much it. We've given this place more than it's fair share of opportunities to do well, but this last trip was, well, our last. I blame this on management, none of whom, apparently, have even even heard the term "customer service" let alone have a clue as to what it might mean.
If you want to go somewhere to have a beer and watch "The Big Game" as we did, just find one in your neighborhood and go there. It couldn't be any worse than this place. If you want some BBQ, call your order in and go pick it up. Staying there would just be an exercise in frustration.
I've been here twice now. Â Originally I came for the BBQ based on Yelp reviews, and had a BBQ Sampler platter, it was good....good enough to bring me back. Â But really this place is a bar/sports bar with good BBQ. Â So it didn't really shine until I was there for the Kings Playoff game and ordered the Tri Tip.
Fantastic all around, BBQ Sauce is just right, Tri Tip was excellent, Mac N Cheese was great...and the sight lines for the TV's were great. Â I could switch TV's depending upon where I was looking and still had a great view. Â Just an OK beer selection, but I will def. come back for the tri tip next time there is a game on.
I really enjoy this place a lot. Â I came here for the first time not knowing really what to expect.
HH is from 3pm-6pm with a few dollars of the appetizers, $1 off drafts, and $3.50 well drinks.
Tuesday: $1 tacos
Wednesday: $.50 cents wings
The food here is really good for a sports bar. Â There are TVs everywhere so you can come and watch games since it is playoff season. Â The service is decent, but could use some work.
There is Trivia Tuesdays and you can play to win $100. Â Btw, the questions are ridiciously hard and I eventually dropped out after the 4th round.
All in all, I really enjoy this place a lot and would definitely come back here again.
My friend and I had to find a sports bar that was showing the Celtics playoff game. Â Not a lot of options in the area. Â I researched and found that The Hollywood Way was nearby and they had BBQ. Â Perfect! The layout is typical sports bar. Â Smallish TVs though... Kind of divey environment. Â No problem. Â
I wasn't greeted when I walked in. Â No worries.. My game was on and there was a table right in front. Â My friend and I seated ourselves. Â No one came with menus so I grabbed a couple meuns. Â I looked at the menu. Â Eventually the waitress came by. Â Very upbeat, polite. Â We ordered chicken sliders. Â My friend got the chopped salad with tri tip. Â I asked the waitress for recommendations and she suggested baby back ribs or tri tip. Â I got them both as a combo with side orders of mac and cheese and cole slaw. Â The sliders came and they were mediocre. Â The chicken didn't have a lot of flavor. Â Just ok. Â
Then came the main course... Ehh. Â With ribs, the meat should be tender and fall off the bone. Â Not the case here. Â Tough and bland. Â The trip tip was a bit better but not special. Â The best thing about my meal was the mac and cheese. Â The Celtics did win.. So it was worth the trip all in all.
This is a tough review for me. There are a lot of things that are great about this place and a few that really ruined it for me. here is my Pros and Cons list.
Pros:
-Crispy Onion Strips and Ranch
-Fries
-Cool Dive Bar Feel
-Cool Crowd
-Sports on TV
-Descent Mac and Chee
Cons:
-Not a great beer selection *I am a little bit of a beer snob but there still wasn't anything worth spending money on, the shock top raspberry was terrible*
-The Pork BBQ *I came here specifically for this because it was listed in one of the weekly Yelp! emails as amazing. Now it wasn't the worst but it certainly was not amazing. It tastes like they went to to Costco, bought a big pack of pre-made pork BBQ and added some possibly homemade sauce to it. Maybe it is because I spent a lot of time in North Carolina and am spoiled by real BBQ, but this just didn't cut it for me.*
-Loud Obnoxious Lakers Fan Girl *shutup
Overall:
I will certainly go back. It is a local joint trying to do some good. I need to give it a second chance and I will certainly update my review. I will choose more wisely next time as well. I blindly ordered the Pork BBQ on the Yelp recommend so thats probably my fault, but anyway, it is a good enough stop to warrant a second trip and taste some more of the menu.
It's five o' clock in the morning, conversation got boring so I'm writing another Yelp review.
It's been almost a month since I've been at this sports BBQ bar but the positive lasting impression it left me has got me typing away. Think of this place like Nic Cage circa his "Face Off", "The Rock", "Con Air" era. Not the most nutritious or end all of all BBQ places but still pretty damn awesome.
This probably says more about me as a person than The Hollywood Way as a BBQ bar but if they just went the little extra mile in decor and ambiance I might be all over a five star review. Though there's nothing really wrong with the interior of this joint it's still not set up as the type of place that I just need an excuse to drive to. Sure once I'm there it's all good but really I don't find myself craving driving nearby the Burbank airport for any reason aside from the occasional flight to Vegas. And though The Hollywood Way certainly adds a little incentive to consider heading out there for a good meal while watching my Clippers, it's still missing just that extra little something to veer my car towards them opposed to say a nearly equidistant Fu-Ga or Library Bar in DTLA.
Maybe a couple hot waitresses? Can't hurt. Better decor? Not the worst thing that could happen. I'm not an interior decorator but I know what I like and feel when I step inside a space and there was something about the use of space inside this place that just didn't work for me.
The food is by far and away a fantastic selling point though. Had the combo BBQ with pulled pork, spare ribs and brisket sliders with mac & cheese and fries sides (which made for about the next three meals). The bartender (whose name escapes me at the moment) was more than helpful to walk me through their signature food options and drink deals. Cool dude.
Basically, the food is well above good, the service is excellent and the drinks are solid.
Now if they could do something about maybe the decor...
It's HAVE time in America.
Time to suck up another shitty work week and have a good time. Â Time to drown that blue moon melancholia with a weekend of endless shots and Blue Moons aboard the Loco Locomotive of good times, America.
"Shoot, shoot! Chug, chug! Shoot, shoot! Â Chug, chug! Â Out of the way, pansies! That's The American Express coming through!" Â
Time to have some tasty bar food, America. Â Beefy Cheeseburger Slammers and a whopping basket of freedom Fries. Â And don't forget to freedom kiss your superb waitress as she delivers your food, along with yet another self-chilling, blender-looking novelty pitcher that comes equipped with its own spigot, America. Â
It's also time to have a bevy of beauties walk into the bar in high-heels and short skirts that get up to leave after only one round of shots, America. Â And then when you ask them where they're going, the ringleader says "We're going to Hollywood."
"Hollywood? Â You're at the Hollywood Way, young missy. Â It doesn't get any more Hollywood than this."
"Sorry, gotta go."
Man, how does one recover from such a missed opportunity, America? Yeah, it's devastating... but I'm sure she'll find a way to bounce back (insert smiley face here, America!)
Time to get back to watching sports on a multitude of flat screens, partying hard as we put our good times to music, America:
So what we get drunk
So what we smoke weed
So what we blackout
So what we throw up in our hands before we make it to the bathroom
So what we act the fool, that's how it's supposed to be
Living young and wild and free!!!!!!
Yes, that's the American way, America... good times at the Hollywood Way!
Have some.
Who ever gives this place good reviews does not know a damn thing about quality or sanitization. Â The drinks were the only thing good about this place. Â The food was disgusting. Â I wouldn't feed it to my garbage disposal. Â The menu claims it's "the best BBQ in town"....a LIE!!! Â The tri-tip tastes like dessert....too damn sweet! Â All I tasted was cinnamon throughout. Â The texas toast came out soggy. Â The fries tasted fake and cold. Â LA ain't known for it's BBQ, and this place is why. Â They were understaffed the day I came in...we waited 2 hours for 3 drinks, 2 food plates and our check.
Went to use the restroom, and witnessed one of the cooks putting a rub on raw chicken in a bucket sitting over the trash can!!! Â EWWWWWWWWWWW. Â I can't believe this is what Burbank has to offer its residents.
