No Bar

Time permits a lengthy review, but this is a nice lounge/bar.  Moody lighting, good seating layout - great for conversation.  Pool table.  Friendly bartendress (if I may).

Enough is enough already.  Went in there years ago and tried to bring in a turkey sandwich from the 7-11 next door (I had already been in the bar drinking for hours and got hungry) and the bouncer and owner had a conniption fit: "I run _______ many bars and I've seen people get killed!"  And I"m like, "....with a fkn TURKEY SANDWICH?"   They were ridiculous. Then the owner followed me across the street to yell some more and I'm saying, "I am not on your property anymore, and I do not need to have a conversation with you."  To that he just started screaming, "Stop staring at me like that!"  I guess he didn't like me looking at him like the idiot he was.  I hear they finally let you bring food in here.
    So that brings me to this experience.  My friend and I went in there a couple days ago and had some ok drinks.  After a while I take my jacket off and have a sleeveless t-shirt on, and we're still drinking for a while, and the barback comes up and says, "sorry, we have a dress code, no sleeveless and no tank tops."  I thought he was kidding.  "You guys think this is a classy place or something??"  Then the female bartender who had been waiting on us was like, "Did you just sneak in?"  I said, "No, you've been serving us for an hour now."  She said, "Just put on a hoodie."  Wait, I thought hoodies weren't allowed in most places with a dress code.  Backwards.  I said we'd rather not give this bar any more business than have to put on a jacket.  Then I pointed out to her that SHE was wearing a tank top and she actually said, "I'm a girl."    My female friend was livid because that's no way to represent women.  She went up to have the barback pass on her feedback about their policies and he wouldn't have it..  
    What a fkn joke.  And it's too bad.  It used to be a divey lesbian bar named Rumors.  Those were the days.

This place is really cool. I went on a Saturday night after a friend broken up with his girlfriend. To be more accurate, she dumped him. And after reading reviews that this place was similar to BarOne (the previous local drink hole we frequented)...by Valley expert Orsolya D. I decided to give this place a try. I wasn't disappointed. There are actually people my age here (38) and they're dressed nice. I arrived in shorts and t-shirt carrying a Big Bite from 7-11 around the corner. They didn't judge. They let me in. I ate at the bar and just felt...comfortable there.

This isn't a dive bar. It's more like a cocktail lounge. The only thing "dive" about it is that at Happy Hour (which last till 10pm) you can get a Pabst for $2. That's freakin' amazing. And everyone seems okay with everyone else. I can't imagine a fight breaking out here. The liquor selection is huge. They have great beers on tap. I default to Guinness. So my friend just waxed away of his jilted love relationship while we drained a few pints. The place is really dark. So you really couldn't see the tears on his face. Or the lines on the middle aged women there. So if you're a cougar, this is a great cave to visit. I'm not gonna front, I'm glad my mug was hidden in the darkness too. I've clearly underestimated the power of ambient lighting.

Pretty girls. Hip dudes. And, at the time I was there anyway, zero pretense. I say that makes it a hit.
