    I CAN"T BREATHE !!!!!!!
I smoke and it is horrible...the ventilation must be horrible. I hope they move the smoking to outside.
Service has been hit or miss. I was at a table next to others near the big TV. The waitress kept serving the one table and I had to walk up every time to the bar. Made me feel insignificant.

Have been to this place a few times with friends to play poker or with the boyfriend's pool league...  not a favorite place... just OK...  Music is often too loud as are some of their arcade games.  Food is hit or miss as is their service.

Found out this weekend that they have decided to designate the bar as No Smoking because of online complaints... Really?   I was told they made the patio area nice with misters and all...  How nice...  Let me say that I do not smoke, but a lot of my friends do.  This is a big bar with high ceilings and a lot of space to allow the smoke dissipate.  A couple good quality, well-placed smoker eaters would do the trick.   I think that relegating smokers out to a patio, far from the pool tables and poker tables, instead of making an investment in decent smoke eaters because of a few online complaints is a poor business decision and the last straw for me.

    I won't be back...

Ok, I've written 2 reviews before, but deleted those to finally just give this place a one and sum up just about the same experience we have had over the last few years coming to this place....We have gone there several times during the last few years because the place is HUGE and actually has many TV's to view sporting events. It is a shame though, because the place is never consistent. We went to view the final game 7 last night of the Spurs vs. Heat and a lot of us were saying boy this sucks! (Both the bar and the loss!) No A/C first of all. Really?...REALLY?! The french fries tasted burnt, but were somehow soggy and greasy. Literally an inch of grease in the bottom of the basket of wings that we got an hour after we ordered them. They are ALWAYS understaffed. The poor wait staff were trying their hardest to keep up, but it's just not possible with 2 waitresses and 30 tables. Management is nowhere in sight. Girls dressed trashy, but no set uniform or anything. No toilet paper in the upstairs girls bathroom, so then everyone had to use the downstairs bathroom, which was disgusting! We WANT to come to this bar to hang out because it does have enough tables, TV's and projectors to watch games, but everything else sucks. Hooligans has the potential to be an awesome place to hang out, but falls way short!

Their $4 shots are cool. They have a huge variety! I really like the toasted marshmallow one. On some evenings, they have 50 cent wings. It gets crowded during games, but it's a nice looking sports bar that's not horribly expensive.  I like that it's a large place, so there's plenty of seating, (it's two stories) and lots of TVs so you can usually see no matter where you sit.

They have happy hours and giveaways, and it's a fun alternative to a bar with no food.

This is a great establishment if you enjoy listening to live music in the San Antonio area.  Their Pizza is good, beer is very affordable, and the atmosphere is great if you want to play poker, darts, or shoot pool...

This was our second time here....the first being a few years prior.
We are NEVER going back -- ever.

First, we made the mistake of plowing money into a Groupon to lock us here.
Second, it was just horrible service.

We wanted dinner and beer - it was early on a "concert night" but before they started charging cover.

Service was very slow -- food took 45 minutes, beer was taking 15+ minutes.  Ladies room had NO PAPER, and nobody seemed to care until a stink was raised.

When food comes, it's burnt...but not before it sat on a bar table, unattended for nearly 10 minutes with the public walking by it looking at it.  We wondered...is this food sitting 4 tables over OUR FOOD?   I said, it can't be...but sure enough IT WAS.   Then it was burnt on top of that, and nothing but excuses...."we're short staffed"....and my wife was patronized and angry with these people.

Then we were told it was "on the manager"...but yet...we were presented a bill, paid up the excess of the Groupon and left.  Worse yet....Groupon doesn't refund for "bad experiences", I learned that from a NYC cruise.

Loud, smokey, small portions, canned food, that pretty well does it.  Please don't waste your time and money here... just really bad...

Some friends invited me here for drinks and I just thought it was a regular bar... until I walked in, had my ID checked, and ordered to pay a cover! I was like what?! Really do I really want to pay cover for a dive? Reason for the charge was because of the UFC fights. I've been to many bars airing the fights is free of charge because if your playing it, people will come anyway, and you'll get money from bar sales. Also I was sitting at the bar and notice one of the bar ladies, had a bottle opener in her shorts, touching her flesh, I don't think that is sanitary, just saying. I do have to hand it to them for the many tv screens every where you look, good for football season, but you probably not want to go they might charge you to watch the superbowl! LOL

So what do you do when you have an Air Force base and a community college in the area? You build a place like Hooligans. They cover the bases nice sound stage for live music, plenty of pool tables (just borderline to the definition of a pool hall,) huge projection screens (at least 2,) and two bar areas (one who is closed 50% of the time.)

This is an event bar. Look on the website for what activity you would like to partake and then hit up Hooligans. This is not the bar to just come hang out and have a beer or two unless you're a smoker and are tired of being banished to a patio. Then you have free roam of puffing away anywhere in this building.

They have decent wings, an awesome special on them during NFL gamedays. I haven't eaten any other food there, in fact, I've never seen anyone order anything else except wings. I know a couple of bartenders who have been there long enough to earn retirement, at least it seems like it. There's usually plenty of servers to replenish the alcohol in your blood system. I know they have drink specials, usually because they're busy I try to stick with cash.

There's usually a cover when it comes to bands or special events. But hey, the bands gotta get paid somehow. In the end I give it 2 3/4 stars, mainly for making a venue like this for the area. Unless, you're here for something specific there's other places to enjoy for a cold one.

This place is the archetypical sports bar off an Interstate. Very standard in everything with multiple large TVs, an upstairs for billiards, and all the mandates on tap. My only reason for the fourth star is that they hosted Extreme Midget Wrestling which was a riot.  Because midgets, like Nutella make everything better.

Hooligan's is one of those places that you go to because you like the band that's playing there that night (The Spazmatics!!) or when NFL Network is the only one showing the Cowboys game and you have TWC at home. Other than that, shrug. It's not bad.

Decent drink prices, it's not in San Antonio so the smoking ban doesn't apply. Warn your friends of this or expect grumpy people. Plenty of pool tables and seating. The stage is big, well lit and has a solid sound system.

The TV's and projectors could use an update. Bar upstairs as well and you can view the stage from the balcony. Nice touch.

A local bar for drinks. They have a few big screens, event nights, and live music too. I haven't eaten here, but you can smoke, so I have been known to enjoy a cigar and beer here. Helpful, nice staff.

My husband and friends used to frequent Hooligans until recently.  It was definitely a place to go to watch UFC and boxing, which we are big fans of, or just to hang out.  Not sure if there was a change in management or what but they need to go back to the way they were.

So by 1 star rating is because:
    - Last time my husband and 2 of our friends (one in from California) went just to kick back.  We got there at about midnight.  Hardly anybody was there and they had a DJ.  Cover was $5???  Then my husband was in shorts (nice plaid shorts) and a polo shirt.  We were told no shorts.....unless we were willing to pay an extra $10 to get in. Really? Since when does a bar and grill not allow shorts especially since we have both worn short there many times. When we turned around to leave, a couple walked out....he was wearing grungy cut-off camo shorts and a plain white tee.  That was the straw that broke the camel's back...we will not be back.
    - The last fight we went the to see they charged $15 and not the typical $5 and it wasn't even a "big" fight.  The only reason we stayed was because the fight was about to start.  We've often called to find out the cover when they have fights but you can never count on it being that amount.  We would be told $5 and show up and it was actually $10.  That seemed to change for a while then, Wham...$15?  I will stay home and save $$ getting PPV.
    - Many of the female servers have zero respect for women then with their husbands/boyfriends.  I have personally experienced this and other's have too.  Jello shot girl seems to be the worst one and she puts on an act of being tipsy when she short-changes you.

I'm sure there are many others that must feel the same as I do...seems there business and decreased considerably.  The only plus and 5 stars go to Mike...the server we requested every time we went.  He is awesome and he's not somebody I know personally, just from going as frequent as we used to.

Blech!  That's all I have to say.

Not really - I have more to say than Blech!

We were in there for about 30 minutes on a late night.  It's a very spacious place and LOOKS nice - plenty of pool tables, room for live music, dancing, hanging out etc.  Staff was friendly, prices were reasonable.

There were *maybe* 30 people the night we were there.  It seems that the place can hold a couple of hundred - it is very spacious.  For a place that seats a couple of hundred, it was VERY smoky for only 30 people being there.

The only way we will be back is if they make changes with the ventilation or the smoking policy.

Sorry Hooligans - this place definitely has potential, but the smoke is just wayyyyy too much.

Was meeting a friend coming in from out of town, and we agreed to meet half way, which some how ended up being Schertz. Original plan was to meet at Lion & The Rose, my friend kind of scoffed at the burbie atmosphere (geez we're Scertz what's to expect) so I said I know a place that some friends of mine who lived in the area use to go to every once in a while. Come to think of it I was Probably thinking of a place on 281 and 1604, not 1604 and 35. So we went to Hooligans, entered, walked around , and walked right out and headed back to Lion & The Rose. It was pretty bad, bad culture, bad design and layout,a huge TV showing a bunch of nothing and scowls all around. If your aspiration is to end up on a reality tv show, you would love this place.

Been here three times and I've always had a good time. Not sure if it's because of the company I've been with or because I've had more drinks than I should've. Either way, they usually have a good rock band playing on the weekends. Not sure about during the week. The DJ beforehand plays some old school with the new so the music is always fun. Last time I was there, our bartender Mike did a great job on making sure our glasses were never empty.

Aside from the scary-looking dive bars slightly off Pat Booker Road, the Lion and Rose in The Forum, and The Ticket Sports Bar, Hooligan's is the only real straight-up bar featuring the hip night life that all the young Universal Citians are looking for (or at least a reasonable facsimile thereof).

There's a bunch of pool tables upstairs, a giant projector downstairs, and miscellaneous sports playing on TVs everywhere you look. I am of the belief that bars should have the right to allow smoking, and Hooligan's seems to agree. They also offer some live outdoor events, such as UFC fights, outside on a makeshift patio.

Word of advice: make sure your buddy is asking if you want to go to Hooligan's, and not nearby Hoolihan's - that one letter can make for a very different night.

We went for a co workers party after work one day. The place is lame. I would never suggest it. It was so boring! A sleeper for sure.

We stopped in last night during our "girls night out". The bar features 2 levels with lots of room. It wasn't very busy, but there was a good amount of people there. They were charging a $5.00 cover, but I think it was because they had the UFC fights on the big screens.

My only complaint is there was a bartender that was obviously being a bitch to our server. She kept messing the drinks up and clearly giving her a hard time. They also closed the kitchen a little early, so we didnt get to order food.

They had several pool tables and arcade games, if you were looking to do a little more than drinking. I will probably return because of the limited bar selections on the NE side of town.
