One thing is clear after coming here...Southsiders looooove their Hooters! They were packed tighter on a Saturday night than a b-cup bra looking to pick up some extra shifts, so I gotta give props to these girls in orange for accommodating a party of about 30 birthday-going friends of mine.
I called ahead to let them know we'd be coming in for bar service, and they did a decent job of dealing with all the scantily clad dressed drunkards without even punching one in the face.
The location itself is pretty darn diverse, customer wise. There were families, people on dates, and of course fellas looking for some free entertainment. Although a lot to deal with they did it with a smile and that beats a nice pair of boobs any day...well, almost any day ;-)
I don't frequent Hooters' (plural) often, but coming here with some (older) coworkers wasn't a terrible experience. The women were attractive enough, and I actually liked their wings (their chicken wings, not their girls' wings). The onion rings were really good, if not a bit greasy. Typical bar food done pretty well.
The girls were attractive enough, and put up with my 35+ year old coworkers' antics and general flirting.
I'm not a big Hooters fan.....The food is "ok" but there are better places to get wings from. Do like there  3 Mile Island Wing Sauce. Along with there blackjack drink (Jack Danials) I find most of the guys that bring me here are married/darting lol so maybe it's a reason why they are coming here instead of the better wing joints?
Review Source:From the moment you enter this joint you would be wondering repeatedly if you made a correct choice. There will be a while before they even notice you. Even when finally seated, please don't get your hopes up. You will have enough time for sure to get to know your poorly wiped, scratched table top, the condiments rack and the menu long before someone finally approaches you to take your order. Sometimes while chewing on their gum , rarely while smiling or even making an eye contact. It seems like they have trouble concentrating to write anything down. Â If an order contains more then 3 items or some variation ie no onions or sour cream in the salad: watch out, it is almost certain that it will be filled incorrectly. I used to go there to get some shrimp or cesar salad, or wings. The steamed shrimps are OK but the wings or Bufalo shrimps are pretty oily. The drinks seem watered down. It is better just to get a beer. Â
There are few nice waitresses here but there are many who act like they almost won a local country fair beauty contest. They seem stock up, respond in monosyllables and eventually ignore you unless you just parked your Lamborgini after winning a PGA golf tournament in front of their venue.
The cleanliness of the place should raise curiosity of some health inspectors. The food serving area in particular has so many French fries on the floor that they can be picked up with a shovel. Â
The bathroom area is not much better either. If you had troubles identifying the small brown insects on the floor, don't worry, you may have a chance for a positive ID later on. Just please look more closely at your own plate. I saw one specimen with his antennae fully preserved!.
If you ask to see the manager, to complain that the food is not edible, you may hear a surprised reaction and assertion that "the manager will not eat this either".
And when you get back home and reach for Mylanta or similar medication please forget about the tea spoon doses. You may need few table spoons or even good gulps to silence your burning stomach.
Bon appetite!
No longer will I ever go here...the waitresses are amazing. They do their jobs perfectly but the kitchen staff and management has ruined this place for me and all my friends. The last 2 times we went there we had horrible experiences with an hour wait for food on a slow day and hair in our food the next with nothing taken off the bill for it. The kitchen is an open kitchen and is always always ridiculously dirty. Sad to say we won't ever be going here again. The fact that they use to be busy and are very slow as of late is indicative of how management is letting this place slip.
Review Source:I have to quote from Adam W's review: Â "Most of the waitresses are nice but not engaging. The girls are rushed and have little time to talk to the costumers. "
Personally I prefer that, and the only real complaint I have with service was not getting a water refill. Â Oh and there was $34 overcharged on our bill. Â They were great about correcting it and I believe it was a genuine mistake (it happens).
The food was fine and got to our table in a timely manner.
The restaurant was crowded (as it should be on a saturday night), but more than half the restaurant was families and most with young children. Â Not something I was expecting and did frown on the presence of children.
Lucky this is getting 1 star. Worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I'm an 18 year old kid. I could have better things to do with my life other than write a review about hooters, but I feel this one deserves it. I went Saturday night around 10 at night. First off, there was a family of 3 that walked in at the same time my group if 3 walked in. After, waiting an hour and 10 minutes for my food to arrive after we received our main course first, and then she decided to bring my appetizers afterwards. Actually, let me rephrase, ...we received our COLD main course first, and then she decided to bring my COLD appetizers afterwards. I went on a Saturday night, it was my group of 3, and the family of 3 that walked in with us, we were the only ones there that ordered food. It took over an hour for those 2 "chefs" to make a few wings. Completely disgraceful. I must add the "chefs" we're very unprofessional. From looking at them, they were moving slow, one of them even listening to his iPod while he attempted to cook. This was the worst hooters experience I have ever had. I honestly lost my appetite after waiting for about a half hour...somehow I survived more than an hour after asking my waitress what the hell was going on. Isn't it her job to check on the food for the customer? She didn't even bother to, and she knows how upset and confused we were when waiting for the food to arrive. That place needs a reality check. If that was my business, I would of fired those "chefs" in a heartbeat. The manger did however give me his employee discount on my food, to compensate for my troubles. I appreciated it, but that place will never see me again.
Review Source:My husband and I where out on a date during the late afternoon Saturday. He talked about how good the HOOTERS in Down Town Chicago was. Because we where in Melrose Park, after the movies he decided to take me there. We walked in everyone very busy conversation with each other, so we waited about good 5 Min's. to be notice. A young lady decided to lead us to a section we did not like, so we asked her if we can sit to a spot we felt comfort with. As we sat there, WE WAITED AND WAITED AND WAITED, a good 15 Min's., we asked who is waiting on us. SO FINALLY this young lady FINALLY came to us. We ordered FOOD was not good, service was OK. Spoke to the manager PAUL on duty, on Monday to express our concerns and did care to here our the situation. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE THROUGH ALL.....
Review Source:I come here with my co-workers a lot on Mondays for their $5.00 cheeseburger and tater tots platter. Â I like their burgers here but honestly, have never been a huge fan of their wings. Â Don't get me wrong - I love some good wings - I just don't dig Hooters all that much. Â I always ask for my burger to be medium and it never is. Â It's either bloody or overcooked. Â The service here is decent and quick. Â I try not to take any personal digs at people, especially when it comes to appearance, but since Hooters basically promotes their wait staff's good looks, I'll say it. Â The girls who work here are really icky to look at. Â I know I'm a girl and it shouldn't matter, but I still want my Hooter Girl to be hot just off principal. Â There, I said it.
Review Source:I've been here a few times and, have to say, the food is pretty darn good and the beer keeps a flowin'. The servers are really nice. Michelle, my server tonight made sure we had plenty of beer to keep the fun and conversation going. Tonight, I just had beer (it's "what's for dinner!") but usually I order the fish sandwich and it is quite good! I know -it's Hooter's -but they basically maintain their popularity by keeping their food and service top quality so it's a pretty good place to eat and drink! I was pleasantly surprised that there were several women there tonight as customers -usually I'm the only one. It's a pretty laid back environment and not too risque so ladies shouldn't have an issue eating there! Good place, good beer, good service!
Review Source:I come here often with my boyfriend for wings and sangria. Â Our new favorite that was just added to the menu are the tater tots.... mmm mmm good.
The service is almost always great. Â We did have one bad experience that made us not come back for a couple of months. Â We were seated, got our pitcher of Sangria and then after waiting 30 mintues for a 20 piece order of wings, we paid for the pitcher and left hungry. Â We've since gone back and had great service, so I guess it makes up for the one lousy night.
Over all, it's a nice place. Â Delightfully tacky with a great staff.
I usually like the wings here, but the last time I had them here, they seemed extra greasy. I like their curly fries too and those tasted the same as before. Maybe it was a bad batch I got so I will give them another shot. By the way, I thought Hooters girls were supposed to be HOT! The only thing that was hot were my wings that night!
Review Source:Ok as you all know I love chicken wings. the spicier the better! Oh yeah! I met 2 of my longtime Bro's here for some wings and some beer. I had an awesome time! Partly because It had been a while since I hung out with these guys..............wow we used to be Legendary! anyway..........
I ordered a dozedn 911 wings UN breaded! these were really good, as I am not a fan of the breaded hot wings.
beer was tasty, the atmosphere was traditional Hooters.
Shake & bake seal of approval.!
