Hullabaloo Diner

Pure fun diner, went for Sunday brunch, great food, fun atmosphere, live music, nice bar great people.

I am shocked I am giving a place I read great reviews about, saw on a nationally syndicated tv show, and talked about as such a great place a 1 star.

First:
Walking in, I had NO IDEA where the entrance to this place was, nor where to park, SUPER CONFUSING.

Second:
Once my wife & I entered the building, some lady just yelled at us "2, sit here" and pointed at the bar with super small stools, while there was still booths open.

We sat down, were given greasy, torn menus. Had to ask for another menu.
A college kid with his underwear sticking out every time he turned around asked us what we wanted to drink, he took our order and we also got the Cheese Fries w/Bacon.

Cheese Fries with Bacon? Sounds excellent! What we got.... a serving of frozen old fries with fatty bacon slices and cold cheese. Worst Cheese fries I've ever eaten.

Dinner:
I got the famous "Diners Drive n Dives" philly cheese steak.
Reminds me of frozen beef, with the same old fries, unseasoned beef, it had no onions, no red peppers, it had cheese and Philly steak. (nothing special) I pointed on the menu to the guy and he said I guess the chef forgot the rest, I said don't worry I'll eat this.

My wife got an omelet, omelet was cooked properly, but her potatoes? Tasted like biting into a baking soda filled potato which has been frozen for months and not properly seasoned.

We chose not to stay for dessert as to sad disappointment this place turned out to be for us.

We checked out the bar which was way cool except the fact it smelt like dirty rotten bar dishes, and years of neglect of cleaning.

I guess they live off the reputation of the Diners Drive n Dives show, but since then... if it was amazing, it , at least MY EXPERIENCE/OPINION of this place is horrible. Would never recommend, nor go back.

Funny thing was at the end, our waiter came by and said: was everything good, how was everything??? And before we could reply, the older lady said "What, like there gonna say it was bad??"  I bit my lip and we walked out.

Service may have been slow but considering the amount of traffic and orders moving in and out of this place I was impressed. Each girl I had seen on the wait staff were bustling around and were very busy and very attentive. The portions were more than enough and not one person in our group of four could finish their meals because they were so big.

Wait for breakfast was standard and average. And if anyone complains about the wait time here then you jut haven't waited for 45 minutes at an IHOP who serves less people and gives you less of a portion. Wait staff from hostesses to waiters were all very friendly and they even had an entertainer singing for breakfast, I enjoyed the experience and loved the music (inside) and the diner feel with the 50's feel. I would definitely return to this location. If you have whiny girls drop them off out front since the back smells like septic or chicken poo so they do not have to smell it and complain. When this place is packed parking out back can be a chore but the cost, portions and experience was something I appreciated.
