Even despite the inevitable freshman 15, Chicago students will inevitably get bored of the dining halls. Hutchinson Commons is supposed to be a place, a food court of sorts, where there is everything and anything you could possibly want to eat. Instead, we got a Subway (is this really an "improvement" from dining hall sandwiches?), a mediocre but overpriced sushi place, an okay "Indian" stand, a stir fry place (I hesitate to call it Chinese, being Chinese myself), and a cheap pizza place.
All Hutchinson Commons is great for is a place that makes you feel like you are living the life of Harry Potter. Other than that, the food is mediocre and not worth paying for--I highly recommend trekking across campus to Cobb cafe or to Ex Libris in the Reg to get some of the good stuff from local Hyde Park  restaurants.
