This was our second trip to ICE. We ordered the Crispy Salmon Roll and it came with stale cereal (Kix and Rice Crispies) stuffed in rice with salmon on top. My wife had two pieces and put her chop sticks down in disgust. We both ordered a Chocolate Lovers Martini with the sushi....which came about 20 minutes after the sushi. Waitress forgot to refill our water which was needed to wash down the sub par sushi. The martini's tasted like milk mixed with water. There was probably about a quarter shot of vodka in the drink. Total bill was $30 for two drinks and stale cereal. WORST restaurant experience we have EVER had. The quality shows when they are empty both times we've been there.
Review Source:So, it's been a while since I've been here, and for a good reason: this place is awful. I frequent the coffee shop next door and one day noticed this place had opened up. I was extremely excited, considering how I am a huge sushi fan. That was the high point of my review, so prepare yourselves for the rest.
ATMOSPHERE: At first, it looks nice. However, when you've been sitting down for a few minutes, you realize how shoddy it all is. Everything feels and looks cheap. The tables are wobbly and light, as if they were made from the worst plastic you can get. The chairs are painful and high off the ground. I haven't been to the couches, but who would want to do that and eat in a restaurant. No thanks. The bar was very cool, I must admit, but by the looks of it, there wasn't much of an alcohol selection. The sushi bar is extremely small, which I find to be incredibly disappointing.
SERVICE: So, I came here with a friend one night and were promptly seated. Good so far. Then, our waitress got a little weird. It was her first night on the job and was really trying to sell this place. I appreciate it the effort, but I honestly just want to eat and have a decent time. I wasn't aware that I was volunteering for a new product survey. I ordered a martini, and my friend (of well over legal age) had a tiny sip. She quickly came to our table and asked for his ID, which is fine. But then she started explaining away again that it was her first time at work in 2 years and didn't want to get fired. Again, don't dump all this information on me. No offense, but that's not why I came here. Throughout the night, she kept coming back to our table, but each time, she was getting WAY too close for comfort. I could feel most of her upper torso against my arm, which was incredibly uncomfortable and extremely unprofessional.
FOOD: Absolutely mediocre. My friend got a roll with ranch dressing on it. You read that correctly. And it was lukewarm, which is the worst kind of temperature for a salad dressing...which belongs on salads, not sushi. The roll I had was painfully spicy.
Overall, please do yourself the favor of never coming here. I went back with another friend later and was again disappointed. If you want good sushi with appropriate service, go elsewhere, probably somewhere near Buford highway.
This place brings a wonderful change to downtown Woodstock. Their menu of sushi as well as non- seafood items, for those of you who aren't in to sushi, is absolutely phenomenal. This is absolutely without a doubt some of the best sushi I have ever had. On top of a great food menu is their variety of martinis as well as other drinks. They have their signature and special martinis, but can also accommodate the pickiest drinker if necessary. Have a specific drink you like but it's not on the menu? No worries. The bar is beautiful with a white/gray marble and white leather bar stools. The ambiance of ICE had an electric blue glow and reminds me of a place you could find at an island resort. Right now they have live jazz music playing and the place is full of very happy customers as well as regulars. There is even a white leather couch in the front corner for those of us who want to go out after a long day but also know how much our couch is calling our name :) All in all this place gets an A+++ from me and fits perfectly in the up and coming area of downtown Woodstock!
Review Source:Fair prices, legit decor (they didn't cut corners, weren't lazy & actually made a unique splash in downtown Woodstock), THE BEST SUSHI IN WOODSTOCK....could easily COMPETE with Buckhead, downtown Atlanta, midtown, etc....and WIN!
Food quality was absolutely worth the drive (Marietta to Woodstock). Not sure how long they've been open but  I'm pretty sure the server said 3 weeks (maybe months?).  Our server could use some serious practice...but the food was so good I can't even complain.
Imagine colors of the Greek sea, crystal conglomerate chains... aluminium + white leather n metal bar stools...white marble slab bar...hints of electric blue lights. (don't forget white couches). It doesn't match downtown Woodstock and its PERFECT.
Baked Mussels tapas were 3 for $7.50...and I ordered (x2) of them. If they would let me...I would just order 9 on one plate; devour them & call it a night.
Classic sushi rolls like spicy tuna were enjoyable. Looking forward to trying the tapas bbq or teriyaki beef sliders next time. I had the Super Crunchy Shrimp tempura roll with extra eel sauce. Tuna carpaccio with slivers of avocado...nicely cut & well flavored.
DRINKS: Featured a pumpkin martini (it was decent), $5 cosmo or something with blue cheese olive...We tried the pumpkin & I had a customized crown martini...both good but really lacked on the "COLD" glass feature. Their restaurant name has "martini" in it...i'm sure they'll get this cold thing down. I've never seen a more funky sushi restaurant well on the right path. I hope once they get their feet wet they'll get crazy & feature wild sushi specials! Â Every place has to have its calling card; right now its the baked mussels for me...cant wait to watch them evolve because they're serving it up well as of NOV 2012.
Side note: something about reserving rooms in the restaurant, like vip booth? I dont know, we ate near the bar on the couch, I was happy with the view.
I was shocked. Never did I think that downtown Woodstock would have some of the best sushi in metro Atlanta. We had tuna sashimi with avocado (awesome, and ordered seconds!) a crunch roll (way better than most), and a chef suggested raw flounder with lemon, and extra virgin olive oil. He also added a sprinkle of truffle oil and cracked pepper- amazing! If you sit at the sushi bar do yourself a favor and take what the chef suggests! Can't wait to go back
Review Source:So Happy that Sunny's Occasions was able to say hello to Owners Peggy & Danny Snow, Dessert Specialist Lisa & Chief Ito. The beverages ranging from beer, Martini, and soda were on hand so everything was in place for a weekend to be enjoyed in Downtown Woodstock by all.
Wait staff is great as well at Ice. Last night Marissa waited on us. She treated us like we were her only customers, very polite an
d efficient. We did not have to ask for a drink refill, she brought us our variety of beverages ranging from soda, beer and Martini. We enjoyed a variety of tapas from the pro, sausage and the Salmon crunchy roll.
Sunny's Occasions has found their Sushi, Tapa, and Martini Bar. So thankful downtown Woodstock has ICE Martini Bar.
