This review is based on a recent trip on St. Patrick's Day, perhaps the worst day to visit any bar that even rhymes with "Irish," but there you have it. I did not have a chance to try the food so the five stars are based solely on the service of the bar staff.
The bar was insanely busy, even in the afternoon. That said, I only had to wait a few minutes for my drinks. The bar tender on duty, Jake, handled the pressure of ~40 people waiting for drinks with calm and professionalism. At no point did the bar seem out of control, and, because of the skills of the bar tenders, nobody seemed to be waiting too long at all.
I look forward to going back and trying the food on a day when the bar isn't packed to the gills.
If you are looking for a good lunch, this is the place. They have a $6 lunch special with soup or salad and 1/2 of their signature sandwiches add a soda for $1.99 and you have a filling lunch. The Guinness Beer Cheese Soup is my favorite. The menu is full of authentic Irish dishes, most of which is still under $10. Make sure you get some of the homemade potato chips.
I went on a Saturday night and the place was packed. They had a band at 10pm called Extra Stout that was fantastic. All-in-all a great atmosphere for lunch, dinner, or just enjoying a pint.
