If this was the last place on earth serving booze, I'd probably just quit drinking.

Solid 3, working its way to a 4. I've been here twice and my experience improved dramatically between the two visits. The firs visit was in August. I ordered a beer and got a beer. Yesterday, my coworker and I stopped by for a beer after work. We're both big craft beer guys and Ironworks isn't really known as a craft beer destination. We ended up chatting with the assistant brewer for about 15 minutes. They've increased their selections and are working on a pilsner now, which is only a week in the fermenter and already shaping up nicely. He even poured us some tasters. That was awesome and really cool of him to do. He's very proud of what he's created. He shared a lot of information about future batches and places they are working to distribute to. He was really friendly, as was the bartender and another gentleman I imagine was either the owner or manager. I was really impressed. This place has a reputation as a dive bar, and don't get me wrong, it has that classic pool-table, rough and loud bar look to it, but don't be fooled. You can come in here for a beer after work or a long night of drinking with your crowd. Sure, they serve Bud Light, but they also have 8 micros brewed in the back and some friendly staff. I can see me uping the rating another star if future visits go well.

I am torn between a three and a four star here.   If I were rating solely on the brewery part of the establishment, I would give the beer four stars.  I love the pale ale and my husband loves the stout.  Careful though, it has a sneaky alcohol content.

The atmosphere is what I would give the three star rating.  Ironworks is kind of hidden away behind the old McDonald's (ha!) and a dance studio.  When you walk in it is very divey and has a sea of chairs and tables that are difficult to navigate. There are 3 pool tables in the back which are regularly taken over by some very skilled looking people with their own cues and cue bags (?).   They are all very nice, but it still isn't so inviting for people who just want to casually play pool.  We have been here for open mic night and a karaoke night.  Both are what you would expect, though the open mic night was much more enjoyable for me.

The food all seems to be frozen bagged bar food.  Don't get me wrong, I love $2 corndogs, but you should know that this isn't a place to get "pub" food in the European sense.  This is something that wasn't clear in reviews when we first moved here, so I thought it needed to be said.

I guess upon further review, this sounds like a 3 star rating.  But I like this place and I like the beer.  And as it is the only brewpub, or even bar for that matter, in this area, I give it 4 stars, because it is what it is and you should take it for just that.

Dive bar, which I like from time to time  Great drinks, staff and prices.  Fun place to meet friends for a quick game of pool or darts.

When I discovered that there was a brew pub this close to home I was very excited. I'm a fan of trying out new beers and seeing what Denver has to offer. Their selection of beer was pretty small and for some reason they also had Bud PBR you could purchase. This should not happen when you brew your own beer. The wait staff was friendly, the beers they brewed themselves were OK but I've had better, and the location was kind of hidden. I do have to say that the prices weren't too much for what you got though. In the end, it's worth the drive to go to a place like Renegade instead of this place.

I let the bartender be creative and make whatever drink he wanted and that was a great decision! I had some delicious drinks at this place! I'm pretty sure my boyfriend and his friends loved all the beer options as well.

We came here a couple times for the Monday night trivia. The trivia was fun, but we eventually just got sick of the atmosphere and the other people. It's not really a fun place for young people.

As a Brew Pub in Colorado, I expected more-- much more.  The difficulty in finding the hidden bar in an abandoned strip mall was the beginning of the sub par experience.  When we found the pub, we noticed a patio that would sit  maybe four comfortably.  As we walked in, it was not the typical brew pub atmosphere, instead, I got the vibe that of a "dive bar" which Iron Works actually was.  The bartender was very friendly and helped us right away.  I had an Agave Wheat and my friend had a Hop Killa IPA.  I liked mine just fine, but would not order it again; my friend couldn't even finish his.   All in all, this pub has good service with a mediocre atmosphere and pedestrian beers.  Would not recommend this place to a friend, unless they were my 78 year old grandpa, as it seemed everyone else's grandfather was already there.

Were vacationing in Colorado and were looking for a quick bite on the way to a show at Red Rocks.  Expected a more upscale brew pub but that's OK because what we found was  dive bar with great food.  the soft chicken tacos were excellent.  Staff was great.  don't let the initial looks deceive you.

Don't come here for the atmosphere but do come here for the beer.

The beers are great and very reasonably priced ($3-4). The staff is great too - very good and keeping glasses full (if desired) without being intrusive.

Bottom line - definitely a dive but the beer, prices, and service more than make up for the location.

First off, this is kind of a dive, so dont come here just so you can write a bad review. Save that for applebees. Now, since we have that outta the way, and we KNOW we are talking about dive bars...
THIS PLACE RIPS!!!!!!! 7 homebrews including 2 ipa's at 3/4 bucks. Ironworks, works. Just fine.  Good, friendly staff who kept the glasses full.  Hey Fun people! Go there!

Great selection of craft beers that are made onsite.  I play pool here so am a regular at the bar, but would come for the beer regardless.

A grittier crowd and that's for sure.  My companion nearly got into a fight when some of the men wouldn't leave me alone.  A couple of pool tables, though, and lots of seating.  The bar is cozy and frequented by regulars.  I've been here twice.  I probably wouldn't go without a guy though, and maybe that's stupid but based on my last experience, it's how I'd have to do it.

Good, strong drinks.  Nice waitress that served us.  Regular pub food.

If you're local and looking for an unpretentious hangout, you might like it.
