The people here are nice, and they're remodeling, so I understand some disarray comes with that. I've been here with family for brunch twice. Had the omelet. Bland with excessive greasy cheese "product." I wish I could give them a good review, but the restaurant is absolutely filthy. Menus are sticky and the condiments have a layer of filth on top of them. The server wiped down some of our table, I had to use our baby wipes to clean the table again, and the highchair. I thought I had thoroughly cleaned the highchair, then my wife took out another wipe and it was almost black when she had finished cleaning it. Absolutely disgusting. If they take that little care to clean the front of the house, I don't want to think about the back of it.
I give it two stars because the people are nice and it's probably fine if you want a dark place to drink beers. I recommend anything in bottles.
Good place to go when meeting a friend, and you don't feel like going "all the way" to Scituate harbor (which can be off the beaten track when you don't live in Scituate). Â Has a classic townie, regular pub food. Â quiet enough to have a conversation, but noisy enough to make you feel like you are out. Â Always had nice, pleasant servers.
It is a "forgotten" place when I think of going out in Scituate, but it doesn't disappoint. Â like "Oh yeah let's meet at Jamie's!"
Jamie's has a standard breakfast menu. The breakfast was surprisingly good, and the service was also great. My only complaint would be able the many flies that were flying around during breakfast. Nothing is worse than flies buzzing around when you are trying to eat. Aside from that I had an enjoyable experience.
Review Source:Went there for breakfast this morning. Â Place was half empty at 10am. Â Sat for 10 minutes without even being asked if we wanted coffee. Â I don't know if the waitresses are morons but they all are overweight. Â So were most of the patrons. Â Place is a dump and I'm glad we didn't stay. Â Would never go back.
Review Source:Breakfast in March 2012. Â Oh, so bad. Â
Just because we both wanted our bacon and homefries well done and crisp doesn't mean we want them thrown into the DEEP FRYER@!!!! Â Are you kidding? Â Grease all over the plate. Â Over-medium egg was oozing with yolk.
I can't go on. Â Won't return. Â Too many other places to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Me and some friends used to go here all the time on Friday or Saturday nights back in the late 90s through 2002-2003. Back then the food was unbelievable and the service was fantastic. The appetizers were excellent such as the ultimate nachos which overflowed on the plate, the buffalo wings/fingers were plentiful, and the dinners were so good that whether it was a pizza, a burger, or steak tips, you could not go wrong. Everything you ordered was great and you never walked away hungry or dissatisfied. Â Been back a few times since Jamie passed way, the prices have gone up, the portions have gone down and the overall food quality is terrible. I recently went there with the same friends from the day, the nachos were half the size they used to be and were pale imitations of the ones we used to eat. The food was ok but not up to Jamie's standards and the service was just ok. Wish I could recommend Jamie's but it's just not the same anymore.
Review Source:Sadly, I have to say, something has gone a bit sour...the last few times we've eaten here, the food hasn't been great. Â Still doing a great breakfast but the meals just don't "have it" any more. Â The service isn't reliable...one day you'll get someone friendly and attentive and the next you'll get surly and feel like you're making them work for their tip. Â They still have their good days but they've been seeing less and less of us.
Review Source:Say What? ..  Am I missing something here reading other people's reviews. "Great food - Great service - Great clientele". Huh? Are we talking about the same place? Jamie's is just this side of the Scituate High cafeteria and I'm an old 'townie' who used to eat that food.  Let's be real. The place is dirty. The decor is circa 1987 with worn linoleum table tops, grimy carpet, depressing dark paneled walls, unteathered  kiddies whining ... and don't get me started about the food. Bland is being kind. The menu is straight out of the old Howard Johnson's - only microwaved to death. Huge portions of what's best described as marginally italian, nautical or god knows what. Note to kitchen: 'More' food is not 'Tastier" food, please !  Ever notice how many folks take their half-eaten dinners home in a doggie bag? Because they feel guilty having just paid for subpar fare. I guarantee it will sit in the fridge until it spoils and then mercifully thrown out. There are hundreds of these small family-owned restaurants that dot towns all over New England. Some are great and some are, well, not. The ones that are really good inevitably share the same formula. Example: The Marshside in East Dennis. They stick to six to ten fresh main dishes every night: fish, veal, steak, pasta, chicken and something unique that is truly their own signature dish ... and avoid trying to be everything to everybody: like a dreary four page menu of mediocre 'comfort  food'  that's been held captive in the walk-in for the past few days... I know you get what you pay, (which incidentally has grown more expensive lately) but with a few tweaks here and a few upgrades there, things could be sooo much better. And yes, families with kids will keep coming back ... and those tips for the pleasant and hard working waitstaff will be more abundant.
Review Source:We ate dinner here and it was very good. Â The place is a casual, homey restaurant with a broad menu featuring seafood and comfort food. Â
Everything tastes like it is made from scratch and meals are very well priced. Â
Best option when you can't get to Grandma's or Mom's for some wonderfully satisfying food!
It is what it is: An okay townie joint. The food is fine, the atmosphere is akin to your parent's basement circa 1975. Some of the servers are great, others are pretty crabby and slow. The prices have gone up a bit lately (especially the drinks!), so this place really isn't the bargain it once was.
They used to  have a nice all-you-can-eat Sunday Brunch, but they recently discontinued it. A shame.
