We wandered into Jerry's at 9:30pm when our first choice of restaurant was already closing for the night and we were starving. Â The first thing that we noticed was that the menu has the prices hand written on it and has items scratched out and re-written in ball point pen. Â That didn't inspire confidence in us. Â However, they had diet caffeine free pepsi which was definatly a plus for me. Â I ordered chicken salad on a croissant and my boyfriend ordered a hot ham and cheese. Â Both sandwiches came with fries. Â When I got my sandwich the chicken salad had hardboiled egg mixed in with the chicken salad which I found very odd. Â It didn't taste bad but it was somewhat texturally unpleasant. Â My boyfriend said that he has experienced much better hot ham and cheese sandwiches elsewhere and that there wasn't much meat on his sandwich. Â "Meh, I've experienced better" describes this meal perfectly so two stars it is for Jerry's Restaurant.
Review Source:After partying in downtown Louisville till 5 am., our group of 10 was starving, and the Waffle House wait was 45 minutes. So one of the gang suggested Jerry's.
When we arrived, culture shock was in full effect. Jerry's patrons are salt-of-the-earth Indianans: overalls, John Deere caps, beards, hushed talk and elderly.
The food took forever to arrive and was terrifically unimpressive. I had a garden salad, and it was tolerable. My friends' eggs looked weird, and the gravy was a mess.
Our entire bill came to $85, and we left the server a $40 tip. She looked like she'd had a hard run.
