I'm a local and enjoy the place. Â Food is a step up from your average bowling alley, many TV's and drink possibilities. Â Staff is fun and even made a "twinkie run" one night. Â They bought boxes of twinkies and deep fried them into a disgusting cholesterol nightmare, which we found were tasty and fun. Â
LOL.
I've seen them close off the parking lot in the heat of summer and hold an anniversary party with $1 burgers & sodas, lots of games for the kids and a band playing.
I love the creativity and energy, but don't know if I would do a deep fried twinkie again
:)
Why no love for Jimmy G's?!?
They really saved my butt tonight! I had a brief "layover" in the area and it was quite cold out, so I was stoked when I saw that I was next to TechCity Bowl and Jimmy G's.
I headed inside and immediately grabbed a booth. A flip-menu advertised some of their specialty drinks, specialty foods, wines, and BEER. What was so exciting about the beer? They have Mac & Jack's Serengeti Wheat on tap! I have only seen it at ONE bar in Seattle, so I was shocked and pleased to find it on their menu.
As soon as the super-nice waitress/bartender came by with the full menu I ordered a Serengeti (and started browsing the menu). And... what do you know it... they have a late-night happy hour that starts at 9pm!
I perused their menu for a while, mostly focusing on the happy section. They advertised $2 pints of bud/bud light (no thanks), a few mixed drink options, and a $4 food/bites menu. I quickly found myself a little bit intrigued by the Jalapeño Bottlecaps on the happy hour menu. So what are they? They are fried Jalapeño slices and they are little KILLERS!!! I'm not a big fried food fan, but I rather enjoyed these little bites that made my mouth burn oh so much.
My "layover" ended soon after I received those so I ended up taking 2/3 of the hot bites to go, but I will definitely be back to good ol' Jimmy G's! I imagine that my next visit will involve some bowling and a Margarita.
