Joe's Crab Shack

Not a bad place to go.  Not the greatest but we are in IL and there is not a lot of places to get seafood boils.  Sometimes the crab comes out with lots of seasonings and others with hardly any at all.  Last time we were in there the bathrooms smelt like sewer...and I had a cold and could smell something stinky...so not sure what was going on with that.

I was on a trip for work and decided to try Joe's. So glad that I did! I order a pale/bucket that had a Lobster, crab legs, potatos, and an ear of corn. Very, very good. I would eat here more than once a week if they had one in my area of the country (Wisconsin). Oh yes....The key lime pie was out of this world!!

Joe's air conditioner was broken when I went there and made the dining experience.... well, sweaty. I ordered the King Crab bucket and literally got 3 legs. I understand King Crab is heavier but 3 legs seemed a bit short. Not only was the portion smaller than expected the crab meat tasted watery, almost as if it had been boiled directly for a long period of time.

I sat at the bar thinking I'd get better service as I was dining alone, but the bartender kept disappearing and never refilled my water until the end (remember my comment about the AC?). To her credit though she made a killer alcoholic limeade.
