as a vegetarian, i was super grateful for this place during my 2-week stay in peoria. Â most restaurants here are not very veg-friendly, and this place has a whole vegetarian section of the menu! Â another reviewer mentioned that they didn't have "vegan food", but i ate here 3 times and ate vegan every time... Â and they do have coffee!
this definitely stands out from the other restaurants in town. Â being from new york, this was much more my kind of place than the rest of the chains and bar food you find downtown. Â there is actual healthy food! Â and atmosphere! Â rare find in peoria...
we came in with a big group one night and they were awesome about seating us and giving us separate checks. Â all the staff was super friendly.
the food was not over the top amazing. Â but always solid. Â everyone in my group was happy with what they got. Â and the chef was really nice about menu substitutions. Â
overall i would definitely recommend it!
This place has been a favorite of ours for the last several years, but we left being very disappointed after a recent visit. The "special" board listed a stufffed pork chop, which sounded good to both my husband and me. After being seated, we noticed that the pork chop had been crossed off the board. The remaining special were mahi mahi, swordfish, tilapia, salmon and shrimp creole. Do we see a pattern here? It was only 6:30 on a Friday evening and they were already out of the only nonseafood entree! We decided to just have sandwiches. My husband ordered the burger. The waitress told him it came with garlic mashed potatoes. She offered chips instead, which he ordered. I opted for the salmon BLT. When our food was delivered, his very plain burger on a regular bun came with a bag of chips on the plate for $11. My sandwich was actually good, but came with the mashed potatoes on the side. When I complained, I was offered red beans and rice, which I took. They were also a very disappointing side. Overcooked, dry and tasteless-served luke warm, like it had been in a crockpot too long. The place was very busy. I had  to wonder what everyone was eating. The owner was out and about, helping deliver dishes. Perhaps she needs to be back in the kitchen, doing quality control, like she used to do when the food was good. Don't think we'll be back!
