Johnny Provolone's Fine Italian Foods & Unique Pizza Creations P

Oh my goodness!  Great pizza!

Went here with friends and their one-year-old daughter after the most recent Monon Bell game (and Wabash victory!)... the restaurant was fairly crowded but not packed.

The pizza was very good... homemade crust and a bunch of inventive topping combinations. We went with the buffalo chicken... our friends got the Sicilian deep dish which looked amazing. The 10-inch buffalo pizza, an order of Provolone Puffs (which were hot and cheesy, but just okay-tasting) and two beers ran us $20. Not too shabby!

The only negative parts were that the bathroom was kind of gross (it's unisex) and our server basically ran us out of there after an hour or so. She came up to our table around 8:30 (not sure of the hours, but that seems early for closing time on a Saturday) and said pointedly, "You can come up to pay at the counter." We can take a hint, so even though we drove two hours to see our friends (they were visiting Crawfordsville from Colorado and we only see them maybe once a year), we got ourselves together and left.

I'd probably go back, but would opt for take-out.

I love Johnny's.  My co-worker and I usually order once a week. My favorite is the chicken bacon ranch calzone. I usually order for delivery but when I do go the restaurant, I enjoy the experience. Sometimes you don't get excellent service. Also it depends on who the cook is for the day. Sometimes I get a big helping of what I order then other times its skimpy. But their food is sooooo great. I always recommend them to my guests at the hotel.  Keep up the good work!
