Service and interiors are great. I'm very impressed with the walls, seats, tables. I'm sure the start up cost for the place is big. The only drawback is the location. Downtown Crawfordsville may have this small town charm for some but it was a bit scary for me and my hubby. This place didn't serve horchatas which I was disappointed but they have sweet tea so it cancels it out. I ordered the Salmon Cancun and my fish came out dry. It was fairly obvious to say that they use really frozen salmon. However, my sopapilla dessert was great. I can't complain.
Review Source:This place is NO BUENO. For starters, we had the nachos supremos while we were waiting for a larger group to arrive. When you think of nachos, you think of a big plate of crispy chips, delicious meats and beans, with just the right amount of melty cheese, maybe with some guac and some tomatoes, right? Apparently, at Little Mexico, the term nachos means a plate with about 15 chips, the cheese pooled to the side, a smear of beans opposite that and bits of chicken and beef clumped around. Needless to say there were leftovers, even with 6 people.
After everyone else in the party had arrived, half of the group's dinner orders were taken. Around 30 minutes later, the other half of the group finally had their orders taken.
My girlfriend ordered the Camarones Yucatecos and it was pretty terrible. She had about 3 shrimp before realizing that none of the shrimp on the plate were de-veined. The digestive tract of shellfish are not exactly her cup of tea.
I ordered the Carne Asada, which, pretty standard fare, right? How could they screw that up? Don't worry. They did. My food showed up after everyone else's, even the people who ordered a half hour AFTER I did, and the beef was gray and stringy. Â I asked for a refill on my Coke about 4 times before I was ever brought one.
Do not go here if you are with a group. They cannot handle tables of more than 5 people. I'm told the margaritas are pretty good and the rice is actually pretty tasty. But, those two things alone would not make me go back. All in all, it's pretty terrible.
Hubby and I stopped by here on Black Friday on our way home from seeing his folks.  It was fairly busy, and we were seated quickly.  The décor is crazy, but the mad colors grew on me a little. Â
Chips and salsa were blah. Â Chips tasted like they came out of a bag from the store and the salsa out of a cheap jar from Wal Mart. Â We got some queso and it was thin and runny. Â The iced tea was so weak that it barely had any color to it. Â I switched to pop after half a glass.
Hubby got the house fajitas and I chose pollo fundido. Â They came with what tasted like thin Azteca tortillas, not the typical yummy mexican restaurant kind. Â Our food was just ok. Â Not bad, but it had very little flavor to it. Â Even the chorizo was bland. Â We were pretty disappointed. Â
The servers were very nice and friendly, and service was good up til the time we needed our check, and then we had to hunt him down. Â
I'd never go back. Â I can make the same stuff in my kitchen by opening a few packages and cans.
