The Jon Lovitz Comedy Club

The staff was friendly and Comedians were funny.

This review is solely on the venue itself...If i had to rate the acts on thursday night i would have to say EHHHHHH 1.5 stars. I kind of found it a little dissappointing they advertise this show with "YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT BIG HEADLINERS WILL SHOW UP (past shows have included chris rock, david spade & margret cho) and then not ONEEEE big headliner showed up.  Iv been to ALOT of comedy shows & the acts for this particular night werent all that great. Alot of pitty laughs im afraid but HEY stand up comedy can be a hit or miss kind of thing sometimes so that isnt going to stop me from coming back. :-) I just wish they didnt promise you BIG THINGS & deliver microscopic things.

I was invited to a show on a thursday night.... (with a 2 item minimum/person which is typical for a comedy club) For a group of 4 people we all got 2 beers each & a total of 3 appetizers & spent about $94 bux which is a little on the expensive side..ANDDDDDD gratituity was added all ninja like at the bottom of the receipt so pay attention to that! (we would have tipped her twice if we hadnt noticed) Our waitress was super niceeee but the nachos were NOT!! ewww stay away from those lol. The french fries were pretty delicious that came with the decent sized chicken strips but DEFINITELY dont opt for the nachos!!! Our waitress tho was pretty awesome..i ordered an angry orchard apple ale when i first sat down and was brought what i thought was apple beer...after drinking about half of it my dumb ass then realized "HEY THIS DOESNT TASTE LIKE APPLES" and discovered they brought me a coors instead...once i told the waitress she brought me a new angry orchard on the house which i thought was pretty amazing of her. Customer service was definitely a big plus for this place.

The venue was pretty ok a little oddly laid out upstairs tho...tables seated in front of a raised stage downstairs & the upstairs had a balcony with 4-5 tables seated RIGHT IN FRONT of a face level railing and a couple longer tables behind those with bar stools. I would suggest trying to get seats downstairs since you can have trouble seeing THRU the railing that is face level when your sitting down in front of it. All in all this place gets a 2.5-3 star rating...the acts werent very funny (which im used to almost peeing my pants in laughter with normal shows), the seating upstairs a little awkward & sub par food at pricey prices, but i know friends who have seen some pretty amazing comics here so if more tickets are offered i wont say no...but i dont think i would ever spend my own money for tickets at this place unfortunately...and im a little sad this FREE "laughless" show ended up costing us $94 PLUS $10 for parking. le sigh :-/

My wife and I went for a Sunday night show and dinner.  The comedy was great.  We were impressed by the line-up of talent. There were maybe 10 comedians during the two hour show and at least half of them had me practically pissing my pants.

Our waitress was very nice and efficient and even offered us some birthday cake left over from a staff party the night before.  

At the end, a manager thanked us for coming (and helping to eat the leftover cake) and told us they were going through a lot of changes and improvements and hoped we would come back soon.  

We will definitely be back as long as the improvements include the food.  That's my one ding against the place.  They were out of three of the things we tried to order so we ended up with nachos and calamari.  Nachos weren't too bad but the cheese sauce they were covered with was hot in some spots and ice cold in others. The sauce that accompanied the calamari I think was mayo and thousand island dressing, regardless, I wasn't very good.

I'm really pulling for this place because aside from the food issues, we had a blast.  If the food had been great like the staff and the show, I would have given 5 stars.
