Kilroys is a local sports bar and restaurant pub in downtown Lansing, Illinois. Â Unlike a lot of downtown villages decimated by businesses moving out or closing because of big box stores, Lansing's downtown is still intact. Â KIlroys is a fixture of the community. Â There is plenty of parking behind the bar, off of Williams Street, which intersects Ridge Road. Â Entrance to the bar is off Ridge Road, entrance to the restaurant is off Williams Street, although you can get to either destination by either door. Â The restaurant is quieter than the bar and sports bar areas. Â It has a nice cozy feel to it. Â The menu has the usual burger and sandwiches, salads and appetizers. Â The service was good and quick. Â My wife ordered the Blue Burger which is Angus beef with a good portion of blue cheese crumbed over the burger and partially melted. Â It came rarer than my wife cared for and the food server took it back and got it to medium rare like she prefers. Â I had the shaved prime rib sandwich which came with au jus as well as onion, lettuce, and tomato. Â We both opted for the Cole slaw instead of French fries. Â A much larger portion of Cole slaw came than the usual small plastic cup. Â We both liked our orders, good size and satisfying. Â Both sandwiches were $16.60 without drink or tip.
