Started eating there in the '90's when I worked for the Forest Service and got to be a fan. Â It's just basically a sandwich shop but they have unique sandwiches. Â My favorite is the Mystic Seaport. Â It's shrimp salad on sourdough, heated with melted cheese on top and served open faced.
Review Source:I haven't eaten here in years, but remember the sandwiches as being excellent. Â Actually, some of the best I have ever eaten. The chokersetter was my favorite. Â I used to be a local, so trust me, this is the best place for lunch in Chester. Â With so many businesses shutting down in Chester, I'm confident that this one and the Frosty will survive.
Review Source:As the waitress said: Â "The water is great"! Â The flowers out in the front flower boxes are too! That was about it. Â After that it sort of goes down hill. Â
This is more a sandwich shop with microwave casseroles  than a restaurant. Â
My partners sandwich was french dip and the meat was similar to sliced meat glue type meat and not truly sliced roast beef. Â There was little meat on it too...and awfully expensive for what they ordered.
The childrens grilled cheese was rubbery American cheese like it had been microwaved instead of truly grilled. Â
The dip that went with the tortilla chips tasted like ketchup and mayo.
My cheesy chili casserole was just that, cheesy and like it was made with inferior cheese once again microwaved chewy good. Â It came with this folded flour tortilla that said it had butter on it. Â Well, it did not taste like it was real butter.
Service was great, but gal lacked a smile, maybe a bit burned out.
I think I say "Next" , next place that is not next time!
