First time I walked in here I felt like I had slid through a hole in the fence.I was the only pale face in the place. The bar staff spoke very limited english but since I was just here for a drink after work the language barrier wasn't much of an issue.I ordered a Miller Light which is universal in all languages. After watching the locals dance with the waitresses (which I thought was pretty cool of management to get them interact with the clients in such a way) I ordered a Grand Marnier. My bartender had no clue as to what she was supposed to pour. At that time the owner was walking through doing one of his routine check ups and he heard what I was trying to order. He ended up taking the bottle and pouring the drink himself. But the best part is yet to come. This guy takes takes the class of GM and puts a match to it which causes a blue flame to burst forth. For those of you who don't know this takes some of the bite away making it even smoother.Needless to say I was impressed with his knowledge and showmanship and was sold on the place after that.Even with the language barrier all of the staff is friendly. The only down side to La Luna is the male female ratio.Horrible place to meet a woman.Nearly as bad a place to bring a date if you're insecure or she likes to work a room.If the ratio was better I'd have given this place 5 stars.Even the food is good from what I've experienced but then everything is good when you're intoxicated =-)
Review Source:Tried ordering food from this place about 3 times and all 3 times I was left unsatisfied. There are definitely better latin restaurants in the area. I went one night to dance and the music was good but only ghetto looking people showed up and people were barely dancing. Plus, a fight almost broke out. This place is great for the ghetto.
Review Source:Never eaten there, only popped in for drinks. Â Not too many places to take a date dancing and If you want to show off your salsa moves to her then this is your place. Â I am usually the only non-Spanish speaking person there, but that's OK it makes me look a little cool and edgy in front of my date...lol
Review Source:Three and a half stars. We moved to Woodbridge a couple of months ago, and even though our apartment complex said restaurants weren't allowed to distribute their menus on the grounds, they still do, and my husband and I collect all of them. La Luna was the second place we ordered from, and we were pretty pleased.
The delivery was really quick, except that one time that we attributed to a new driver. They actually send you the complimentary chips and salsa when you order takeout, which is awesome. You can order a whole tub of the guacamole, and it goes really well with those free chips. The nachos are decent, and we order the chicken quesadilla a lot, which comes with fries for some strange reason. (My husband thinks this is great.) The taco platter with beans and rice is great, but I never want to order it because when it gets right down to it, I just want to eat 1 or 2 of those pork and cheese pupusas. They're the best thing on the menu. They come with cabbage slaw that I don't touch and a yummy tomato dipping sauce. I like to roll my pupusa into a cup-shape and fill it with as much of the sauce as I can. I'm usually a mess, but it doesn't matter because I'm sitting on my floor with my husband watching old school Degrassi. I love Tuesday nights.
We ate at the actual restaurant once, but it's best to stick to takeout. The place was split, with a scarce amount of people only hanging out on each side of the restaurant, while my husband and I sat ourselves smack dab in the middle. On the left side were Hispanic men drinking beers and shamelessly hitting on the waitresses who were all wearing short, tight skirts and what looked like really uncomfortable platform sandals. The right side had lone men grabbing dinner and a drink and then exiting quietly. There was a bit of a language barrier between us and the waitress, but overall, the service was fine. I think at one point she made fun of me because I wanted to go home instead of watch my husband watch soccer and have another beer. Â Me and my 7-month pregnant self reasonably wanted to go sleep off dinner instead.
I've only gotten delivery from La Luna, but have had two fantastic experiences. Â We've tried the chicken tacos, beef quesadillas, a pasta dish, and beef fajitas. Â Everything was delicious, fresh, and cooked to perfection. Â Delivery was quick, and the customer service was great. Â
I can't speak for the service inside the restaurant, but if you're looking for good delivery in Woodbridge, this place really can't be beat.
