Apparently this used to be a La Hacienda? Â My roommate and I were looking for a place to eat on the south side before we headed back home from a trip to Michael's.
Did a search on Yelp and it led us to here, however it seemed to have  changed hands and renamed to La Villa.  I'm familiar with a La Villa on the near east side and may be the same owners.
Before we even made it into the restaurant a drunk man approached us asking how the food was at La Villa. Â I replied that this was our first time, but that I'll be sure to let him know. Â He told us to be weary as they use to serve Chinese food alongside the Mexican. Â Sure enough on the sign blacked out was the word "Chinese." Â
We were instantly greeted with probably the loudest "HELLO!" we've ever heard and were instructed to sit wherever we'd like.
The yelling didn't stop and we were quite amused as the gentleman running the restaurant was very friendly and accommodating.. just loud!
The food was fairly average, but I was pleased. Â I think both of us were just glad to be eating as we were having our first meal of the day around 5pm. Â There were several Mexican restaurants / groceries in the area including a bakery.. and a Taco Bell. Â Weird. Â I have a feeling I'll go back though.
