I just love when people knock a place and say there are better places in the area...so, where are they? I think this place is just fine for the area and the price. They have nice variety and decent drinks. Again, for the price, portion and variety, it's worth 3 stars for sure, and I go here whenever I'm in the area.
Review Source:I think the people that say that Lees is really good, if not the best, have got to get out more. I am a huge fan of Asian food in all the varieties that its pleasantly cooked in (gourmet, authentic, greasy, etc.) However, I recognize when a restaurant is average or just not good.
Lees is nothing special. In their defense, Rhode Island doesnt have the greatest quality of Chinese food. This being said, Lees is greasy Chinese food, but not great. I tried mainly appetizers which the steamed dumpling  and boneless spare ribs are worth mentioning. But I wouldn't go back.
Regarding service, the Chinese woman was nice who cashed me out. She reviewed my order and made sure it was everything I asked. Which I felt was nice yet very unusual. I wonder if this was done because of a previous service complaint due to missing items in pick up orders....
Heard about this place from many people so decided to check them out...Looks can be deceiving (not the most modern place), but this has to be the best Chinese food eva (RI Lingo). Friday night dinner for two...more food than you can ever think of eating..19.00..Are you kidding? Nope.
Not the same out-of-the box processed food either...everything was fresh and had a different spice/or whatever added to make it slightly more flavorful than your run-of- the-mill Chinese joint.
Definitely a "must" stop on your culinary exploits and highly worthy of as many return trips as your bad Cholesterols can accommodate
I honestly think this is the best chinese food I have ever had. Â Considering there are chinese food places on every street corner in RI, I think Lee's actually has the best flavor. Â They give really big portions whether dining in or taking out. I love the General Tso's and they are very good about making it extra spicy when I ask. Â The Lo Mein is also another great dish. Â I think you get your moneys worth here and you don't feel like you've just eaten at another average corner chinese food place.
Review Source:You gotta love a place that delivers huge portions of 'classic' American versions of chinese food. Â No fusion cuisine here, but if you have a hankering for good old lo mein, general tso's, or shrimp with lobster sauce this is indeed your place. Â Friendly staff just make you want to come back and back. Â Inexpensive is an understatement.
Gotta try the fried chicken wings and the scallion pancakes!
Bar is a straight local kinda place, but friendly too.
When it comes to chinese food in Riverside. . . there are several options. Â Lee's Chinese is my top choice when I'm looking for a sit down meal as opposed to take-out.
Came across this place by accident one day. Â Driving around with the bf, both starving, decided that the very next place we came across, no matter what kind of food they served, we would stop and eat at. Â Thankfully, Lee's broke the horizon and it was here we stopped. Â Somewhat nervous about the quality of food we may expect from this dated looking establishment, I was pleasantly surprised with the plates set before us. Â
Having recently decided to visit again, I was happy to discover that the food still tasted as great as it did the last time on a grumbling and empty stomach. Â I ordered the special combination plate C15 Beef Lo Mein with Fried Rice and an Egg Roll for $8.50. Â HUGE portions. . . I had a mountain of noodles and rice presented to me. Â Nothing better seeing this when you are prepared to dig in and fill yourself uncomfortably with chinese.
While the food is something we described as "American Chinese" it is some of the best. Â The lo mein and rice are very flavorful and cooked to order. Â They entertained my request for no vegetables in the lo mein without a second glance or shake of the head (which I highly appreciate). Â Drinks are reasonably priced and well mixed!
This place was hopping on a Friday night. Â Not so much in the dining area but definitely in the bar. Â From what I saw through the windows on my way out. . . there's darts, a pool table, lots of people, plenty of seating, nooks, and corners to hang out in. Â Seems like a good option if you don't want to make your way to downtown Providence.
I've seen bus station restrooms cleaner than this place. The front of the house filth only has me wondering what shape the kitchen is which is hidden. The food is only mediocre. It isn't the worste Chinese food I have had in RI, but it's no where near above average. From the yelp reviews i was really hoping we had found an okay chinese spot but were very dissapointed. I am curious why there are so many possitive reviews on yelp, but if you do a google search there are far less favorable reviews.
Review Source:The food is consistently good. I've never had a dish that wasn't fresh, hot and generously portioned. Â I especially like their crab Rangoon and general tso's chicken.
The staff is very friendly and there is never a long wait for your food.
The interior of the restaurant doesn't appear to have been updated in years, but you are def not there for atmosphere, but the delicious food!
I've lived near Lee's for years and never tried them until last year - the exterior isn't particularly attractive and for some reason, I never bothered. It took reading the Yelp reviews to get me there - WOW! Â Some of the best Chinese food I've had in the Providence area for very reasonable prices. Â I'm thrilled to have finally discovered really great Chinese food in walking distance from home.
Review Source:Been going there for about 4 years now and hands down the best place I've been to. Â General's chicken is always crispy and hot. Duck sauce to die for, like liquid crack! Have tried many meals and never disappointed. Portions are huge and always leave with a bag. I travel about 10 miles just to have my fix.
Review Source:Recommended by someone nearby, we got Lee's for takeout and I agree with the other reviews - awesome chinese food.
I got the chicken lo mein and crab rangoons. The crab rangoons were some of the best ones I've ever had. Remind me of a place in North Providence where I tried some once.
The lo mein was fresh, the vegetables were crispy and the sauce wasn't overbearing like at some places. I also tried some boneless spareribs and they were sticky and sweet and everything you want in a boneless rib. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.
