This s now Uncle John's BBQ. I went in twice & was disappointed each time. Ordered fried catfish & it was too salty. The second time ordered turkey hotlinks, they dropped them in the grease to deep fry! I asked for a refund when I saw that happen!

I don't know if these people deliberately tried to kill me but all I ordered from here were fries and I was practically on my death bed all night. I can't imagine being sick like that from just spoiled potatoes. So yeah, they had to have poisoned me.

For almost 20 years I have been treating my 40 employees to Ribs from Leon's BBQ for Christmas lunch and they have always been excellent. This year I ordered 22 slabs, 1 1/2 large pans of fries and 1/2 pan of coleslaw to be ready at 10:30. The order was not ready until after 11:00 and the ribs were the worst I have ever had in my life. They were tough, fatty and very hard to chew so I had to pick up Popeye's Chicken to feed everyone. The fries were burnt and we ended up not eating at least 20 slabs. The only thing they wanted to do to rectify the situation was give me 1 pan of ribs for New Years, well my 22 slabs was 5 pans of ribs not 1 pan. I'll never go there again and advise everyone to steer clear of this location. What bad business.

This is real good BBQ. I love links and I think they have the best links in Chicago here. I' don't think they are the best in the country but they are the best here in Chi town. The only thing that I would say that I didnt like was the low amount of sauce. I don't know if everyone is like this but I like my BBQ hot and saucey. But, besides that the food was good and I found out they had ice cream and shakes and stuff, which was decent. Overall it was a good lunch but a bad choice for the day considering it was really hot outside and the food was really hot.....

Dirty  Inside but good ribs. They can give you a little more fries to make it a better meal.

Leon's is the place to go when you crave some hotlinks and rib tips.  The portion is generous and the food is lip smacking good.  I think hotlinks are just average but the rip tips are superior.  The barbecue sauce is sweet but you can't stop eating it up with that slice of wonder bread.  Only warning: DO NOT! I REPEAT, DO NOT TOUCH THE HOT BARBEQUE SAUCE.  I eat everything hot but that hot barbecue sauce was something.  It made me confess all my sins to God and ask for mercy wheat eating, digesting and expelling.  I know the owner, Rev. Leon Finney, personally and even he admits that he doesn't go near the hot sauce because its just too hot.  A great southside institution.

Okay, so my boyfriend brought me here at 1am when he was craving some bar-b-que...

aside from the crowned pigs on the outside, the sauce was filled with spice & tang...which is a good thing.

The chicken couldve been a bit crispier...but what do u expect? One of the better bbq places though...
