Besides the food selection, which James M. described (+ wings, french fries, etc.), Taurus serves ice cream, which is all I buy there. Â It's very good and dirt cheap - $1.10 for a cup, $2.20 for 1/2 pint, $3 for 3/4 pint! Â It's hand-packed, which means just that, and comes in large containers which are then wrapped in paper - not something I've seen before, but definitely works. Â I love ice cream, and despite being an unlikely place to find it, Taurus stacks up well. Â There are about 8-10 flavors. Â Show up early if you want the rainbow sherbert; they always sell out. Â Bear in mind this place is takeout only - there are no seats, and no nearby benches.
Review Source:One of the best hoagie shops I've been to.
The sandwiches are well made in a timely fashion. By the time I've paid for my sandwich, it's usually done already.
The menu is small and focuses only on the hoagies and steak sandwich. Since they don't have a large menu the can focus on making great hoagies
Unlike some of it's 71st street counterparts, the shop is clean and not crowded with the local  street life.
The hoagies are all made from turkey cold cuts with a light brushing of Italian dressing on the bread and a generous portion of meat and vegetables to round the sandwich out. I have yet to try the steak sandwich.
The prices range from 2 dollars for a small hoagie, to about 4 for the large. Sunday they have a buy one get one free on hoagies, and Monday 2 for 1 on steak sandwiches.
If you're ever on the Southeast side, it's worth a stop.
