Little Branch Cafe

I heard great things about this place. I thought everything was ok. The french toast was good but the croissant sandwich was boring.

I have a strongly lukewarm relationship with Little Branch. My friend lives nearby, and although it has some yummy items, it is overpriced with inconsistent service, although with a cozy atmosphere.

My first visit completely sold me on their mascarpone-stuffed french toast was amazing, loved it!!! Very scrumptious and delicious. 5/5

However, my last few visits have not been as stellar. I ordered one of their burgers (can't remember which one), which came out essentially raw inside. It was the raw-est burger I have literally ever been served in a food establishment. The server was really great when I asked to fire it up a bit more, and insisted on making a completely new burger to go. He also gave me and my friend two free coffee cards, which was a nice and appreciated gesture. Nasty food experience, but really good customer service experience....so ~ 2/5 for that experience.

On my most recent visit, I  ordered a coconut caramel latte, which was unfortunately missing the elements of both coconut and caramel. Turns out they mixed up my order, and resolved the problem by squirting the flavored syrups in a new cup and dumping the plain latte into said new cup. Completely eradicated the latte foam-y goodness topping, and was dumped in an unapologetic manner. They were quite crowded, but were not able to deal with the crowds (messed up my order, wouldn't bother to remake it). 2/5 (yes - equal experience rating with raw burger scenario. very unimpressed)

Overall, lukewarm place...

It's cool how tucked away this place is, but that doesn't mean it's quiet. Lots of customers waiting to order followed by the challenge to find your own table. Our table had the lox platter and a breakfast burrito - both good but nothing spectacular. Coffee had a lot of bite. Prices were fine.
