Little Tap House

I really want to like this place. I was happy to see Plush go under. Sorry.  Theres something very likable about the space, and they have a great beer list -but every time I go theres an upset.  Everyone is very friendly but I just wish their food and mixed drinks were more consistent. Ill give them one more chance, and then Im not sure if I'll go again

I made it here the first day they opened and had been dying to go back. I finally got the opportunity last night, and it didn't disappoint. The beer list had about a dozen on tap, all craft, and all interesting. About half of them I hadn't seen at other restaurants before, so it's a good chance to try something new. My Baxter hit the spot.

We ordered duck confit sliders, poutine, crab cakes, bruschetta, wings, garden salads and fries. There wasn't a disappointment in the bunch. The poutine had enough shaved beef to feed two people. I'm dying to go back and try the burger, which I've heard raves about. Prices were cheaper than similar Portland restaurants, and very reasonable for the large portions.

The restaurant is much bigger inside than it appears outside. There's oak barrels you can congregate around for drinks, a decent sized bar and regular tables. The service was prompt and atmosphere was lively, even on a Wednesday. I could see this being a weekend happy hour hotspot. Highly recommended.

As a tourist to Portland I was taken to Little Tap House by a few locals. First off the inside was great, lots of space to move around, an open bar area, and fun little pieces of art. Service was also great, we were immediately seated, given water and then introduced to our very friendly waiter (the one from Texas). He had great suggestions, was honest about portion sizes and what he preferred off the menu, and had great beer recommendations. They had quiet a few beer choices (13 I believe) on tap and the beer fans with me seemed very impressed.
At the table of 7 we all ordered something different. They were very helpful with one persons food restrictions and willing to make and substitutions needed. I ordered the Beef poutine, wanting to try something unique and different from what I would find in my home state of Texas. Man on MAN!! This was awesome! This is not something I would normally order for a meal but I thought an appetizer would be a good choice for a light meal. I was wrong. There was sooooo much food. Pretty much everyone at the table had a good amount after I ate as much as I could. It was a pile of braised beef and cheese over delicious fries. I highly recommend the poutine and people who got the crab cakes said they were some of the best they had ever had.
