Everyone has a favorite pizza place, but as a previous New Yorker with all the hype that goes along with New York pizzerias, I can hands-down say OTTO takes first place ANYWHERE. The mashed potato pizza in unparalleled, slices are generous, and this summer they have Oxbow Farmhouse (Damariscotta, Maine) unfiltered craft beer on tap. Summer noshing just got better...

I've never been a Pizza girl - until Otto's! Just love that little, casual place. I prefer the restaurant on Munjoy Hill and usually go at "odd hours" to avoid crowds.
In my opinion they make a wonderful pizza crust and add great, fresh toppings.
I always choose my own set of toppings. (my staple: spinach, olives, mushroom).
When it's 2 of us, we order salad and share 1 large Pizza. (always have a slice or 2 left over)
They serve beer and wine.
If you want a drink before, next-door is Snug, an Irish bar.

Went for dinner while visiting Portland this weekend. Menu is limited to salads and pizza. Ordered a couple small and one large pies. Fed 5 of us with none to spare. Pizzas are thin crust, not thick like NY. Red sauce made the pie.
We were a bit taken back when we asked for some extra red sauce for dipping and were told by the server that they could not do that. Against policy. Not very good customer service.
