I would very much like to express my appreciation to the Binga's crew for reaching out to me to discuss my previous review. Â It means a great deal that establishments take the time to weigh and address the concerns of the Yelp community. Â Based upon my conversation with them, I made another trip to Binga's and was thoroughly glad I did. Â
I returned to Binga's last Wednesday to take part in their $0.50 wing special from 9 P.M. until close. Â My wings came out fully sauced and flavorful. Â The wings are served dredged in flour, fried until crispy and tossed in the sauce/rub of your choice (32+ varieties). Â Though they are not available as part of the wing special, their smoked wings are delicious as well. Â Ever time I have gone to Binga's, the wings have been delicious and super moist (brined?). The sauces have always been very tasty. Â
I would highly recommend the Diesel sauce, which is a full flavored sauce (Buffalo hot with the tang of a little Worcestershire sauce and some other magic). Â Every time I go to Binga's I get this sauce...and I sweat! Â
This establishment is very large and provides you and your buddies with plenty of space and the opportunity to view TV's from multiple angles. Â
As I mentioned in my previous review, Binga's has BBQ. Â I would like to expand upon this...their BBQ is very good and surpasses the expectations that I would ordinarily have of a sports bar that serves BBQ. Firstly, Binga's has a smoker and they use it in house! It goes without saying that many places forgo the smoking of their meats in house. Binga's does an excellent job of producing a product that is not only quality, but consistent quality. Â The Burnt Ends are to die for! Burnt Ends are bits of cubed meat that come from the point of a smoked brisket. Â A brisket point has a good amount of fat, which largely renders during the smoking process allowing for the underlying meat to get crispy, smoky and moist. Get the burnt ends....and your welcome. Â
While I did mention in my previous review that I thought that $15 was expensive for a dozen wings, I would like to point out that most of the items on their menu are very reasonably priced. Â Deep fried mushrooms served with a dipping sauce are only $4.99 and a Caesar salad is only $5.99. Additionally, most of the sandwiches are in the $8-9 ballpark.
The quality of the food that one receives at this establishment is very good and is a perfect example of quality sports bar fare done right. I will definitely be back to Binga's and am very glad that the Binga's crew reached out to me to bring me back under their wing! Ba-Ba-Ba-Bingas.
Wing & pick-up review only.
Large quality wings, but for buffalo recommend getting a side of the sauce and asking to get them well done. Â Really the only place to get standard wings in downtown Portland. Â A "full order" of 12 wings plus "a half order" of six would satisfy two people. Â Recommend the dry cajun rub. Â Be specific and slow with waitstaff on phone, are a little confused. Â Have screwed up order twice.
