Evelyn's Tavern

I am smitten with Evelyn's, home of the daily $2.50 drink special. If you ever find yourself in South Portland's residential no man's land, you could do a lot worse than to spend a few hours there playing pool or darts (or a mean game of Rochambeau when a patron absconds with the darts and the owners keep forgetting to replace them), running up the jukebox and chatting up the locals. The tap selection is minimal, but that is hardly the point. Just a good, solid neighborhood dive bar. A word of advice: make sure your next destination is within walking distance or you have the number to a cab company because nobody leaves sober.
