Visited twice last week. Tuesday, I had the baked stuffed lobster. It was prepared nicely. Could have been a little hotter, but overall good. Second visit was Saturday evening. I had a surf and turf. Prime rib with bake stuffed shrimp. That was excellent.
I highly recommend asking for lee to serve you. She provides excellent service as well as knowledge of the menu. She also recommends a good drink!
Think about the things you would expect to find at a place called "The Lodge". Is the interior very woodsy? Yes. Are there bears? Yes. Are they the same kind of bears you'd find at "The Stable"? I'm not sure as I've not assembled a vast compendium of bears at The Stable. But I digress. The food here is pretty good. Especially the meat-based foods. Solid 3 star quality and good prices. The prime rib is the exception--it's outstanding, and one night a week (Tuesday?) it's dirt cheap for a Flintstones-sized portion. So go get it! You know the bear in you is hungry for it!
Review Source:I'll say first that several years ago we stopped going to the the lodge because we were tired of mixed up take-out orders. Â Anyway. I drive by it every day and saw the sign for the $12.99 prime rib. Â We decided to go try it again.
We were happy, I had the prime rib and wifey had a baked stuffed lobster. Â We had to wait a bit but that's normal with the lobster, you just hope that the other dishes are timed so they aren't waiting on that. Â They did good on that as well. Â Prime rib was good and I assume she liked the lobster because I didn't get any...
The place was always clean and the staff has always been nice so that hasn't changed. Â The negatives from this one meal are that the lettuce in the salad bar was frozen solid and they still serve fake butter with the bread and meals. Â
We'll go again, but maybe smuggle in some real butter.
Casual hearty family dinning! Hubby & I had time for a lengthy relaxing dinner on a Friday night in Lincoln. We don't usually find ourselves in Lincoln for dinner but we had decided early on to try The Lodge Pub. We were seated immediately in a booth in the back dinning room. The restaurant was lively. The decor was exactly like a lodge! Big deer heads mounted on the wall, antler chandeliers I even think I saw the mythical Jackalope mounted too! We ordered drinks & the onion rings first. Service was good. Drinks came & our server warned me that mine was pretty much straight up Kettle One so she also brought me a side car of cranberry & ice. The homemade onion rings were so light & crispy.
We ordered our prime rib & the baked stuffed lobster dinners. We visited the very average salad bar prior to dinner. The warm french baguette at the end of the salad bar was a happy surprise. My jaw dropped when the plates arrived! The prime rib was precisely cooked how I like it. It was impressive like a dinosaur cut! I ordered the 24 oz because I was looking to take home leftovers & that was NOT an issue. Tasty & tender, my taste buds were doing back flips! The lobster was at least a pound & a half, stuffed with plenty lovely scallops & lobster. So yummy! Between the two entrees we had a surf & turf going. We enjoyed our evening at The Lodge and will go back.
Great bartenders and service IF you sit AT the bar to eat. Â Relaxed atmosphere. Â Once you know the menu, you're all set. Â Until then it's a challenge. Â I always get a white pizza with asparagus and garlic and its to die for every time. Â It's not on the menu but they make it no problem. Bartenders always remember your drinks too. Â Husbands always happy with his food as well. Â Nice night out for casual, spur of the moment date with hubby or grabbing a quiet drink with friends.
Review Source:This is Absolutely NOT a place we will go again. Staff was ok but the food was so bad that neither of us could eat our meals. No flavor in my dish and my husbands veal was soaked, mushy, and floating in a pool of sauce. Update the decor and maybe the smell of the place will get better as well. Yikes!
Review Source:A great locally owned steakhouse with  fun decor and atmosphere.  Rather than suffer through the chain steakhouse, the Lodge is a great alternative with amazingly great prices.  I've never been disappointed in a meal or with service.  If I had a suggestion, it would be to print out dinner specials on a separate menu-the list on the wall can be a little overwhelming to take in while you wait.
Review Source:This is your average run of the mill dumpy roadside meat and potato's restaurant crowded with locals claiming it is great. The place packs in a crowd but the service stinks and the food is atrocious! The staff looks over tired and is slow and can't keep up with the pace of the customers that will wait outside for this divey spot. The menu contains your typical average steaks and seafood at low prices that taste all the same and are over cooked and just are downright awful. The decor is supposed to be a log cabin of sorts, but what it looks like is someone's cluttered basement of junk piling up from years of neglect. Skip this place, you can do better!
Review Source:The Lodge has gone seriously downhill in the past few years. Â The restaurant is decorated in a pretty tacky fashion, and the food isn't the best quality. Â Service is good, but the selections and decor leave a lot to be lacking. Â It's really trying to be a ruby tuesday's mixed with a hunting lodge which doesn't quite work. Â Sweet potato fries and burgers are my favorites.
Review Source:Not too far off rte 146, this locally owned eatery gives generous portions at reasonable prices. Decorated like a hunting lodge (hence the name) it's food overcomes any kitsch in the decor. A nice salad bar opens the meal...meanwhile the entrees fill the plate like the restaurants did in the old days.I had the Vermont Chicken on my last visit..2 large boneless fried chicken breasts with melted cheese and vermont maple syrup..mmmm,plus a side plate with with potato and veg. Service was genuinely friendly and not rushed, depite having an almost full dining room. Well done.
