I would say that the pizza in here it's a little bit better than you you would get from a Pizza Hut or Dominoes but not by much. The cheesestick weren't that bad specially with that delicious ranch, probably the best part of my whole order hahah. The toppings of the pizza were great but the crust not so much. I will try them one more time and see if I change my mind but so far I am not a fan of this place yet. Price wasn't bad so that always helps....
Review Source:Decent enough for the price, but nothing to write home about.
I ordered the manager's special, 1 topping 14' pizza (with pepperoni) and 16' cheesestix. Â No problem with the delivery, it got to my apartment in about 30 minutes, and came out to $20 after taxes.
The pizza itself was pretty bland, reminded me of something I would get as a kid at Chuck E Cheese. Â It isn't a bad call if you are hosting a bunch of people and don't want to break the bank feeding them, but I probably wouldn't order the pizza again otherwise. Â Most reviewers have already said the pizza was greasy and not-all-that, and I can't say I disagree. Â The sauce also tasted a bit sugary, and the pepperoni on the pizza was pretty sparse. Â But again, it's decent enough for the price, and college kids in the area will probably appreciate the cheap price of some of the specials Mad Mushroom has to offer.
One thing I was really disappointed about: the cheesestix. Â Other reviewers really talked them up, so I had high hopes. Â Unfortunately, I think the cheesestix were probably worse than the pizza. Â They were just really, really bland and not worth getting. Â I would best describe them as a poor man's cheesesticks from Papa John's. Â I mean, they are ok, but how can anyone really say they are amazing? Â Maybe if I was really wasted they would be aight, but then again I'm pretty sure anything you eat while piss-drunk tastes pretty good. Â One redeeming feature is that you can pick up to four dipping sauces for free with your order. Â Dipping sauces make everything better, and the cheesestix are no exception. Â Most reviewers seem to have favored the ranch, but I actually preferred the nacho cheese sauce. Â Still, even while drowning the cheesestix in dipping sauces, they are just "meh."
I guess if your options are Mad Mushroom or Papa John's/Pizza Hut/Dominoes, I'd probably recommend Mad Mushroom since it might be a little cheaper. Â But that's only if you are in the mood for pretty mediocre pizza.
I have been going here since I was a freshman back in 2001. Â I ordered so many cheesesticks, i always knew the price plus tax of every size they served. Â ALWAYS start from the middle and work your way out, the edges are horrible and youll only eat them when theyre cold and in the fridge the next morning when youre nursing a neon cactus hangover. Â The pizza sucks, but the cheesesticks definitely make up for it! Â Boiler up!
Review Source:Is this where freshman 15 came from?
As many of you fellow boilermakers know, mad mushroom has the BEST, by that i mean THE BEST, cheesestick in the planet. Â The minus 1-star is from not a huge fan of anything else but their cheesesticks. Â Mad Mushroom also opens late to satisfy those who study hard and of course also those who party hard.
I believe their gourmet pizzas are some of the best in the Lafayette, West Lafayette area. The west side location has an unusual, almost quirky seating area, nothing special, but the pizza makes it worth the visit. My goal  is to eat every one of their gourmet offerings.

This place isn't that good, unless it is 3 AM and you are wasted, but everything tastes good then. Â Pizza is nasty. Cheese bread is good. Â It is cheap, so I guess that makes it a well loved staple of this college town. Â I you want pizza that is actually good go to Bruno's or Arni's.
Review Source:LARGE CHEESETICKS WITH EXTRA RANCH. Â om nom nom nom
I could just die of happiness. Â They'll quote your delivery at "30-45 minutes", but it's generally pretty quick. Â I still remember the freaking phone number 3 years after leaving campus.
The $4 pizza Mondays are also perfect. Â The sauce is sweeter than most, but you gotta love it.
I wonder if they deliver to CA. Â :( :(
The cheese sticks from Mad Mushroom are absolutely divine, especially if you've been drinking all night. The pizza isn't that great. I think that they do a pretty decent job on delivering in a timely manner, even when it's busy. If you're ever at Purdue and you're hungry, definitely consider Mad Mushroom!
