Still 2 stars, but I feel the need to update because they FINALLY have duck sauce!  So I'd like to be able to add some star power for the addition of duck sauce, but I can't because the service was horrendous.  We had dinner here tonight after not eating here for at least a year.  I was on the road for work during the week and for some reason was craving lo mein all the way back to Denver.  The food is still just OK.  As happy as I was to see the duck sauce, I was unhappy to see they'd changed their egg rolls.  They're about 1/3 of the size they used to be, not what you expect to get with your food.  Even worse, I have NO idea what the filling was - it was a weird mushy kind of unrecognizable something.  And on a sad note, our service tonight was awful.  We ate at the bar, and our bartender screwed up my drink order, my soup and my dining companions request for "no onions on anything."  When I mentioned that I hadn't ordered the won ton soup, but rather the hot and sour, it was very clear that she was certainly not going to fix her mistake.  She glared at me, said she was positive I ordered won ton and then grudgingly offered to get me the soup I ordered.  I decided to stick with the won ton because at that point it was just easier, and I was hungry and tired.  I would probably go back in a pinch, because it's close and easy.  But otherwise I'll continue on the quest for decent Chinese food on this end of town.

Hidden treasure! Funky place with amazing Chinese food! Lo mein and orange chicken are the best I've ever had! Holy cow that was a surprise for sure considering the atmosphere.  Apparently the hot and sour soup is good there as it was sold out by 7:30. The owner is  really cool too.  It was referred to us from friends in Los Angeles and we were all glad they did!  Next time we visit Denver we will make it a point to stop here again!

This place was hard to find being tucked in the corner of a shopping center near Elvis Cinema. It's been around for 38 years under the same ownership.  The present cook, Simon, is Chinese and has been there for 8 years.

The decor both exterior and interior is Spartan but the friendly waitresses and manager, all women, make you feel at home.  Lots of regulars here, especially for happy hour from 4 to 6  and you can watch sports on the 3 tvs at the bar.

The food is very reasonably priced and, in addition to Chinese food, you can get the usual American food like burgers and grilled cheese.

I had the Egg Foo Young and was pleased getting a filling meal of 3 pancakes smothered in a mild brown gravy served with soup, rice and an eggroll for $7.95.

Tofu is served here as well as vegetable dishes.  You should be able to find something that you like.  I'm waiting for a good movie to come to Elvis Cinema so I can combine a meal and a movie.
