I came out here out of the blue with the guys to just to celebrate life and take in the start of the weekend.  I was taken back by the atmosphere here!

First thing to make note of is that this spot is a real nice casual lounge serving tons of different kinds of Martini's and other drink specials.  So whether you drink Martini's or not, the staff has you covered here.

The scenery is decorated with art pieces from local artists in the area, which give the spot a really good stylish look and adds to the atmosphere. Fellas, this is the spot you take your girl to when she wants to go out, but relax and chill.  There are plenty of couches and seating here and there is no stress or pressure to when you walk in.  Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly.

The night I went (Friday Night) was old school night and my crew loved it.  They played old school acid house, hip-house, and other club favorites.  If you wanted to dance, there is a section cleared off for dancing as well.  Otherwise, you can enjoy the throwback music and take in the nightlife.  Really loved this part of the Martini Room.  Good Music creates a good vibe and in turn creates return business.

For those that think there isn't a good night time lounge in downtown Elgin, I'm telling you, check this spot out.  You won't regret it.

I just had my husband's birthday party here and reserved the back couch area for around 30 people and had a great experience.  I work in the service industry so I always have high expectations and I felt their team really exceeded my expectations! Their GM, Brian was very attentive in making sure all of our needs were met from my initial phone call with him to the closing out of my bill.  The owner, Ursula also introduced herself and made touch points with me.  Our server Shauna was friendly, personable and attentive to all of my guests needs.

In general, I love the cozy atmosphere of this bar and especially love all of the local art on the walls and the sofas with coffee tables.  They have a great assortment of martinis which I feel are a little small but perfectly mixed.  The DJ spins at 10pm on Saturdays and has a great mix of music.  I've been here many times and will definitely be back again!..oh and don't miss out on Halloween.  They have a great Halloween costume contest and there is always a huge turnout and everyone is in great spirits!

I loved this place. It was my first time here and I am wanting to go back just for the service and the atmosphere.

I am not from Elgin but needed to meet a date somewhere half way. This was going to be our first date and I didn't want to mess stuff up. You know women, first date, bad place, last date. I chose the Martini Room based on yelp reviews.

I pulled up outside and thought the place looked a little iffy. Needs some paint and a face lift on the outside. I went in and was warmly greeted by Dana the bartender. This girl is fantastic. Warm, personable, and makes some great drinks. We found a place in the back on one of the couches. Dana quickly  came and lit some candles and took our order. The ambiance was great for a date. The girl I was with looked at me and smiled, and said, "Wow how did you find this place?" I was starting to look like a shining star because I suggested to Martini Room for our date.

It was pretty early and not very busy. Dana returned with our drinks and we struck up a friendly conversation. Dana sat down and visited with us for awhile. I had bourght my own Ribs from home that I had smoked earlier in the day, and we all shared them. Yes, they will even let you bring outside food in. This bar was Fantastic and Dana made sure our night was enjoyable. I will be going back soon. First, I am going to call though and go when I know Dana will be there.

    Thanks Dana

Been here numerous times, for parties to art shows, this place is a diamond in the rough! Great martini's, fantastic selection. Lofty feel with great artistic vibe. Perfect for going out dancing and lounging without all the drunk 21 year olds grinding on each other...this is a grown folks kinda place!

Dont Judge from the outside this place has some depth to it, and is very nice layout,
drinks were pretty decent, but  the decor and the music they played were on point.

Having heard many good things about the Martini Room I decided that I had to check it out.  I went with my sister and my cousin for a girls night out with fun drinks.

I was very impressed upon walking into the Martini Room with the decor. I love the exposed brick and loft feel. We scooped out the place and took a seat on some of the couches. When the waitress came over to get our first drink order I couldn't decide what I should try, as the menu is very large. She asked if she could help and described a drink to me that I couldn't pass up. When our drinks arrived I was very happy with her suggestion.

The music, decor and drinks we all a big hit. Next time I think we will come a little later in the night as there was a DJ that just started to play as it was time for us to leave. Over all great experience! Will defiantly be back!

I had a great experience here!

I came here last night with a group of three other people, and we sat at the bar.  It wasn't particularly busy, but that was better for us because we got exceptional service.  Although I think the bartender, RJ, would have been amazing no matter what.  He was quick with his suggestions AND his service.  We tried SO many of the martinis:

Dreamsicle: A-MA-ZING.  Oh my gosh, you NEED to order this.  Hands down the best martini we tried there and that I have had anywhere!!

Mangotini: Fantastic as well, and it is the special of the month--I had two!  It went down way too easily!

    Star Burst:  Delicious as well!

Passionista:  Not my cup of tea.  It was ok, but my friend finished it for me.

I think there might have been one more, but I can't remember...the martinis were that good ;)

Thanks for a great time, RJ!!

Two stars -- one for the taste of the drinks and one for the décor.  When we walked in, the waitress was quick to take our orders, but that was pretty much the only time she was quick. I understand that it was Saturday night so it was semi-busy, but I've never had such horrible service. Even when we told her we were in a hurry and needed our checks ASAP, we were left waiting for awhile and then forced to search for her.

Besides the awful service, the drinks were small and weak -- this coming from a girl that appreciates all that is small and weak. I had the Mangotini and although it tasted like a delicious summery smoothie, I'm skeptical about whether there was any alcohol in it. The atmosphere was probably the highlight of the place -- dark and lounge-y with comfy couches and pillows in black and red Valentine's Day-esque colors. Too bad that wasn't enough to keep us there. Once we heard the same song for the third time and waited 15+ minutes for drinks , we were ready to leave.

The Martini Room has been in Elgin for six years and has never been stronger. The prices can't be beat on special nights (tonight's $6 night!) and the Au Pair (pear) martini is killer. The owner/manager rocks the joint with her mixology and her other tender does a fine job, but isn't as heavy handed.

The decor is funky and fun - what do you want. It's nice to sit in a more comfortable chair/couch than in a hard wood chair. I appreciate that.

I hope they stay open. With the sad shape of Elgin's roads (thank the mayor, not the Martini Room) please don't be discouraged in visiting.

As a martini bar...you would think they could make a good martini!!!  The drinks were weak.  The server could care less if you had Absolute or Goose.  Prices were insulting for the caliber of bar in Elgin.  The stemware was generic department store quality with very limited capacity.  The first garnish was knocked off by the server (who left it laying on the ground for us to pick-up).  My third garnish was absent from the drink.  In addition, the martinis suffered sever losses of quantity during its journey from the bar to my table.

The cliental seemed a little misplaced for the martini bar they were billing themselves as.  I noticed countless amounts of sports attire on a Saturday night.  Also, for a place that highlights the martini...there sure were a lot of Coronas being served.

The décor was decent.  The sitting areas were sleek and upscale.  The walls were decorated with pieces from local artist that could be purchased (nice touch).  Lighting was clearly purchased at Spencer's.  The bathroom was very disheveled and reminded me of a 7/11 restroom.

Overall, this bar pretends to be something its not.  There are far better places in the suburbs for this type of bar.

I really liked this place. My girlfriends and I popped in there last friday night for some drinking fun. It was a great time. Our server was super sweet and attentive and the drinks were really great. I don't have a whole lot of experience drinking at bars (I recently turned 21), but I really liked this place anyway.  They had the back of the place saved for a cute birthday party. We took our seats in these great low couches with pillows and enjoyed our drinks. It was pretty quiet when we first got there, which we appreciated, but by the end of the night, there was a good crowd going. I would recommend trying it out. I had the mojito martini first, which was divine.  I would also recommend the single lady shots. Yum. We licked the shot glasses.

One night I decided, why not try something different and head out to Elgin to this martini bar I've been hearing about?  I expected the crowd to be a little bit older, maybe a little bit more upscale atmosphere...I was wrong.  This place has a pretty nice martini list, but it is not at all classy.  The music was decent but it's pretty small so it was kind of overwhelming.  I was a little put off by the crowd just because I expected a more refined atmosphere.  I haven't been back and am not sure if I ever will return.  Just not really worth it.

For an ever-increasing number of Chicago expatriates living in the Elgin area, The Martini Room offers a welcome taste of the urbane in an often maddening sea of suburban sprawl.  Located in the historic downtown area, The Martini Room is dark, moody, and posh, with low-slung couches, soft lighting, exposed brick, and a real tin ceiling.  Sound like your favorite Chicago haunt?  Kinda feels like it too.

The martini menu emphasizes the sweet, but you can still get a properly made Sapphire with bleu cheese olives if you ask, as well as beer (of course), wine, and a very adequate if not exhaustive selection of other poisons.  The drinks are a bit pricey by Elgin standards, but in exchange you get a real sense of place and a ray of hope for downtown Elgin.  The owner fought a pitched battle with city officials when she was trying to get open -- apparently our "progressive" mayor didn't see the value of an actual civilized establishment -- and for that reason alone she deserves the support of anyone who wants the "new" Elgin to be more than a bunch of mini-mansions and a riverboat.
